“What has been completely overlooked in regard to Zimmerman's defense in claiming the "stand your ground" law is that Trayvone had more claim to use of the law than Zimmerman did.

Trayvone was not committing a crime and had no weapon. Zimmerman stalked, followed, and left his vehicle on foot to chase Trayvone, and did not identify himself. Trayvone was without a doubt in fear for his safety and life from a strange man twice his size that was following him in the dark, who chased him on foot and was caring a gun. Zimmerman further provoked fear into Trayvone by confronting Trayvone with his menacing size and strength. At that point under the "stand your ground" law Trayvone had every right to attack Zimmerman with deadly force in order to protect himself. It is very clear Trayvone is the only one that has any legitimate claim to use of the "stand your ground" law. That Zimmerman's own statements, the 911 tapes and all the witness statements show Zimmerman as the pursuer and Trayvone had every right to attack Zimmerman and cause him bodily harm under the law.

So if the best thing that Zimmerman can claim as his defense is that he was attacked and bloodied on the head and face by Trayvone after he perused, intimidated, chased down and confronted Trayvone it does not help Zimmerman's defense what so ever in fact his own words fit into the justification for Trayvone to defend himself.”

“Zimmerman could have bloodied himself -- if he was bloodied at all. Zimmerman and the cops have lied. How many lies; we don't know, but we know enough to know their word cannot be trusted about anything.”

“It was stated by Al Sharpton that he was just 100' from his father's front door. He was already "home free". So why the need to turn back and go after someone that may have been chasing you when you were so close to home? Trayvon was a young man, involved in sports and obviously in much better physical condition than Zimmerman. It would have been very easy for him to elude Zimmerman. Trayvon's "stand your ground" argument loses all credibility with two important facts here. I do not claim innocence or guilt of Zimmerman, but if I were the defense for this case, I could easily rest my case on self defense based on these two facts alone. There are other facts involved, but my case would be won on these two. There's so much more involved here, so I would urge all involved to take a deep breath while the Justice Department completes their investigation. Clouding facts with racist tainted remarks does us no good here.”

“After listening to Zimmerman's attorney being interviewed by Anderson Cooper, I am even more convinced Zimmerman is guilty of killing this child in cold blood. This attorney even had the guts to go on TV and say he hasn't heard any of the 911 tapes that they've played over and over on tv (he's got to be lying about this). He had no defense or answers for Zimmerman's actions and he was very evasive and didn't seem to know what to say when asked pointed questions. I could tell Anderson Cooper and Mr. Toobin knew the guy was lying and trying to cover up Zimmerman's crime.”

“And my guess is that Zimmerman pulled the gun out and that is why Trayvon fought back. I completely agree with everything you have said here and have been waiting to hear the same thing on television. At times like this it becomes glaringly apparent that our leading journalists are not so good at their jobs.”

“IT IS VERY CLEAR. You are absolutely correct. Our laws have to stand for everyone - not just white people. I'm so pissed at our system of justice that would allow this stupid law in the land of Chads and Jeb Bush. Florida should be cut out of the union and set afloat, in my opinion.”
