“Finally, someone standing up to the Tea Party revelers....these tea party people are scary. Strong Leadership is what America needs now, not the blame game, and IMO, these tea party misguided just don't seem to understand.."it is just not that simple" to just jump to the next candidate that will feed to emotions. We want someone that well feed our stomachs...keep putting food on our tables, that is.”

Well, lets just hope that when her the bubble bursts on what she reallys stands for, that buffont hair do will cushion her fall.”

Commented Feb 9, 2010 at 20:11:02 in Politics

“The "so called" Tea Party movement is stressing on the wrong issues. First, the credit card companies should share some blame. The credit balance tranfers offers they give to the middle class, allows them to get deeper into debt. And that leads to the lobbyists controlling what is written off as a bad debt, saving thes "loan sharking" credit card companies money in taxes. I don't recall taxes being raised on the wealthy, only repealed. So what are they crying about, most of them are middle class.”

If this is a cause worth fighting for, then I would suggest they, 1- understand why they are having these conventions, and 2-is the message being received by the intended partiws. When I last checked, as an American, you have to pay taxes. And neither Republican, nor Democrat representative can exempt you from this, no matter how much you protest. It is in the U.S. Constitution.”

“Grennspan admitted he was wrong.

“Those of us who have looked to the self-interest of lending institutions to protect shareholders’ equity, myself included, are in a state of shocked disbelief,” he told the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

AND:

Many Republican lawmakers on the oversight committee tried to blame the mortgage meltdown on the unchecked growth of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the giant government-sponsored mortgage-finance companies that were placed in a government conservatorship last month. Republicans have argued that Democratic lawmakers blocked measures to reform the companies.

But Mr. Greenspan, who was first appointed by President Ronald Reagan, placed far more blame on the Wall Street companies that bundled subprime mortgages into pools and sold them as mortgage-backed securities. Global demand for the securities was so high, he said, that Wall Street companies pressured lenders to lower their standards and produce more “paper.””

“And getting rid of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac is toxic. One can supplement the other. The Fed Govt gives more in low income subsidies to low income families, low income loans to farmers, small business owners, and fedral grants. I say they should allow more opportuity to those who are on the fed subsidy lists to finance a loan thru Fannie Mae, and use the interest to support Freddie Mac. I guess it can be call recycle the Govermnment's money. I haved worked in Real Estate for several years, and have had Fed Section 8 Clients, and their only hope was to own their own home.”

“With Allan Greenspan, there was hope, with Barnake, there is doom. Just look at his face. Economist arer futurists, which is unpredictable. They can only forcast based on the present and past trends. And IMO that is were we get into trouble. Today, now that is the issue. What happened today, that will shape tomorrow.. Not meduims, soothsayer, psychics, or fortune tellers have this power, neither do economists.. They look at market trends. Appeasement vs. Ingnorance.”

billw8017 on Jan 23, 2010 at 00:34:17

“Long ago when Ronald Reagan was still a living human being, the Greenspan Committee reorganized Social Security so as to cut benefits both by directly cutting benefits and by recalculating the cost of living in a tighter fashion, and raised the Social Security tax.

When years had passed and Social Security was delivering benefits at about half of what they would have been before Greenspan reforms, Greenspan was not so shameless as to say the program should be reorganized for its own sake, but that due to the recession and the aging of the baby boomers, the return would not be as great (SS owns about $3 trillion of the national debt) and taxes might have to be raised if we did not cut back on "entitlements."

Greenspan's hopes are not your hopes.”
