“Nice article and good focus on the community aspect of CrossFit. When beginning CrossFit always look for a box that requires a fundamentals class before starting in with daily WODS. This is the best way to prepare for the stress of the workouts and to learn good form for the exercises. This will minimize injuries. I am 64 and have been Crossfitting for 5 years and have not suffered any serious injuries worse that scraped knees and muscle soreness.”

“I am 63 and have been doing Crossfit for 5 years. I have suffered no injuries other than post exercise muscle pain. I have lost 80 pounds and have moderate to sever arthritis in my knees. Because of this I scale WODs as necessary under the watchful eye of several trained coaches. This program offers more reward at lower cost than any time I spent in a globo gym with a personal trainer. The one thing you don't mention in the article is the support at the Crossfit box from other members. A benefit completely absent in the normal globo gym. Firemen, policemen, soldiers, and other athletes around the world have adapted Crossfit as a valuable tool for training. What's good enough for them is good enough for me. I'll be happy to change from Crossfit as soon as someone offers a better, well balanced, supportive, cost effective alternative. I have signed up for the Crossfit Games Open for the third time and look forward to seeing how I compare with other Master's Crossfitters my age around the world.”
