Take the sight of snakes, for instance. In my job as public science educator, I did a rough survey of at least 40,000 people over about three years. I found that men much more than women were likely to freak out at the sudden sight of a snake---any snake, no matter how close or how far away, how large or small, how venomous or nonvenomous--caged or loose--- than women. And men's freak-outs were much worse. Women could be talked down, especially if minimally prepared ahead of time with facts about snakes and the rarity of snakebite, death from snakebite, value of snakes in ecosystems, etc. Men usually couldn't be talked out of their fears at any time, in any way. They held onto their fear, nurtured, it, justified it, and assumed puffed-up positions of macho "good snake is a dead snake, if I had me a gun...blah blah blah" .

That said, it would have been classier if she had taken a deep breath, counted to ten, perhaps asked for clarification of the question, which does seem to have lost quite a bit in translation. I don't know what language the questioner was speaking, but in that part of the world French is often a person's a third language and English a fourth, so the potential for missing nuances is high.”

FDR discovered the political benefits of accusing opponents of racism to silence them, and his party continues to use it to this day. Part of what's making conservatives angry is the unwillingness, or the inability, of liberals to debate the issues without resorting to personal attacks. What, your post is a classic example of that.”

It is Obama's Homeland Security Dept. who rolled out the domestic terrorist warnings for anyone supporting a third party candidate, or who may be pro-life despite the statistics which clearly show a greater proponderence of domestic terror acts committed by lefty envior terrorists, or PETA terrorists. Targeting potential political opponents with governmental authority I didn't find that in my copy of the constitution, would you mind telling where you read it. Also I could not find anything that authorizes government run healthcare. As a matter of fact the Tenth Amendment clearly prohibits the government from taking such actions.

However, Barry did end the war against terrorism. Of course our soldiers and marines may not have noticed the difference because I think Barry forgot to tell the Taliban, but I am sure you libs feel safer.”
