“what is he right on?? he didnt support a public option either.”

Nicholas Roy replied on Dec 21, 2009 at 00:22:56

“Yes, he did support the public option (show me proff otherwise). And he's right to pin a good part of this on Obama. Obama refused to throw his support behind a bill with a public option instead opting for the trigger option in order to get Olympia Snowe on board. Obama's excuse was "if we try we might fail" or some bull like that, he didn't help Harry Reid get the support of other Democratic Senators for a public option.”

“Mr. Feingold, I find you responsible as well for being the 60th vote on a bill without a public option. All democrats need to be held responsible.”

jahzilla replied on Dec 20, 2009 at 20:56:50

“Miss the point much?
The "compromise" that was ultimately reached was due to only about 5 bluedog DINOS that held ANY progress up on the agreement for a public option. Of those 5, all received lobby influence over the years. You can vent your anger towards Rahm Emanuel, Barack Obama, K-Street influence, the US Chamber of Commerce and of course, the GOP sociopaths. Russ Feingold has been the loudest voice against this compromise and he, along with the about 40 votes (who ARE for the public option in one form or another) realize that they will likely lose the 60 vote majority in the Senate in 2010 and so they wanted some forward movement to build on rather than look like losers to a voting constituency whom they know seldom do the necessary due-diligence before either making seriously ridiculous blog comments . . . or that are just too stupid to vote in the first place.”

msgirlintn replied on Dec 20, 2009 at 22:07:46

President Obama Loses His Base: He Just Ran Out of Slack

“harder to get things done?? GOOD. Look what he is doing. Get a clue. We were all dooped, and its time to admit it and in 2012 let it be known. Lets make him a 1 term pres!!”

Nonpartay replied on Dec 21, 2009 at 01:38:52

“And who would you like to see instead? There is no such thing as a perfect president. I don't even think he's perfect. But I'm certainly not going to spend a lot of time on blogs saying nasty things about him, mainly about stuff we really don't have all the facts on anyway. Between the righties who have never stopped hounding him since the day he took office, and when they couldn't find anything real to dislike, they cheerfully made up stuff, and those on the left who claim to like him but when he doesn't do everything they want RIGHT NOW, they're outa here, he really doesn't have much of a chance. The poll numbers do matter, unfortunately, seemingly more than the numbers of votes he got in the last election. There are ways of getting what we want done and other ways that are counter productive. Seems to me, aiding and abetting the righties in bringing down the president and his poll numbers is not how to get what we want done. The right is loving this, btw. You're doing their job. Congratulations!

BTW, if you Google Obama accomplishments, you can find a list of about 90 things he's accomplished already. Apparently, you've forgotten all the good stuff.”

So next time you're looking at your "check" you better know that not voting dems is the same as giving the Republicans a blank check, something which happened in 2000, 2004 and can certainly happen in the future.”
