Dear Barack, Spare Me Your E-Mails

Commented Dec 10, 2009 at 19:13:24 in Politics

“mollymac,

I feel the same way. I feel as if in his emails to us he's saying or nearly saying what we want to hear but publicly he's speaking to conservative Republicans or someone else..definitely not his base.”

Dear Barack, Spare Me Your E-Mails

Commented Dec 10, 2009 at 19:09:44 in Politics

“I write my Congressman WEEKLY to voice my displeasure. Never in my LIFE have I been more politically involved or aware and it's because I actually do read the news and keep in touch with my representatives that I know what's going on. I am now starting to listen to what's NOT being said rather than what is being said. It has become a little game of mine. It seems that if you listen to what is not being said the real deal is released a few weeks down the road, quietly.

I canvassed and phone banked for President Obama. Planned a rally with hundreds that turned out. I will NOT be doing that again. Why? He simply has not FOUGHT for us. I definitely didn't expect results over night, but I did expect him to stand his ground and he simply has not. I've unsubscribed from his emailings. I've donated at least $1k of my hard earned money to him and that's over now.”

“tybis, it's not Scheer's responsibility to offer solutions. We voted for this President based on the things he promised. I knew that there would be compromise but the man laid down like a kitten in meeting one on Health Care reform and let the insurance companies stroke his belly. In a negotiation you have to give and take but hang onto the things you want to keep, compromise to keep them. From day one he gave up on single payer. Had he kept that as a marker he was willing to compromise on we might still have a strong public option. I've had it with him. He's not getting my vote again.”

Dear Barack, Spare Me Your E-Mails

Commented Dec 10, 2009 at 17:13:34 in Politics

“Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I delete these emails without reading them now. The dang DONATE button makes me want to scream! I supported our President through the election process but I can confidently say at this rate he will not be getting my vote next time around. And before someone accuses me of changing sides, I honestly feel he abandoned us, sold us down the river to kowtow to Republicans. He has forgot the most basic of lessons, "don't bite the hand that feeds you". If Obama is a two term President I will be beyond surprised.”

Mauimom replied on Dec 10, 2009 at 18:03:28

“***I delete these emails without reading them now***

Up until now I've always deleted them too, unless I wanted to amuse myself by trying to get a "reply" through their Chinese wall.

I'm now proposing that we all take an additional minute and "unsubscribe." I'm hoping that some enterprising media hound will do a story on the number of "unsubscribes" generated by this latest Obama disaster.

The DNC, DSCC, DCCC, OFA and Obama probably don't tally nasty responses, and they certainly can't tell that you've deleted their message rather than reading it, but they CAN count the number of people who "unsubscribe."

Just a thought/suggestion.”

telee replied on Dec 10, 2009 at 17:56:50

“I can't stand these e-mails either. He wants us to contribute money so he can sell us out. Can't believe he won the Nobel Peace Prize and gives a speech on the necessity of war. Of course the pundits on NPR had nothing but praise. War is Peace. 1984 = 2009. Amazing!”

“It is so sad to me that in this day and age this is even still an issue. I'm straight and married and know love is so hard to find. When you find it, no matter what the sex of your partner you should be able to get married. To even say "allowed" sounds stupid to me. Asking permission? When I see all the lousy marriages, reality tv marriages...come on those things make a mockery of marriage.”

Michelle Obama wearing shorts while hiking the Grand Canyon should not have been a huge deal. Was she supposed to wear her casual Chanel hiking suit with matching hiking pumps?”

I believe she's really reaching to be filing lawsuits and in the end it just hurts her image more than anything else. It makes her look very very paranoid. I can't ever recall ANY politician who spend time..no wasted time battling bloggers..it's just stupid.”

“It's a shame that a lot of companies are formed under the best of intentions but eventually migrate to a "bastardized" state of thinking...I mean where they are bastards..lol. Google, Dell, any number of companies started with a "feel good" intention but as they grow they lose that along the way. They lose the very foundation of why they were formed..the customer and quality customer service.

Being on hold with Dell customer service IS the seventh circle of hell. I believe I'd rather take a bullet than sit on the phone and try to explain my problem to the Indian customer service people (who tend to be rude..not all but in general the ones I've dealt with at THIS company are smart asses...)..and I don't give a crap WHAT JD Powers and Associates say. They suck at their job. Their main objective seems to be to frustrate you, not answer your question and create more chaos. I know this article isn't about Dell..but..this is speaking to the Customer service portion of the article and he's right..ever try to deal with Yahoo or Google? WHO does their customer service? I couldn't find anyone..if you need to cancel a service good luck. Adding services is a breeze..canceling should be too.”

“Thank you Mr. Dunn. I had very strong feelings last week that the press release done by her office were not her own words. It sounded ...lucid and had a sensible flow. This is proof that she can't form her own thoughts or didn't take the time to prepare. Either way, it shows us something about her as a person when it comes to character. If she's going to cite Gingrinch (who is her competition within the GOP) then she should credit him. I can remember people going crazy over our President using Deval Patrick's words..WITH his permission during the campaign. This? It'll be poo poo away by her supporters and quietly swept under the rug. Where in that case, at least in New Jersey campaign commericals were made about it...interesting contrast between the two parties.”

“I have nothing against her getting implants if that's what she felt she needed. Millions of women do that. But her whole platform at this point is about God given and dictated things..and her own God given body is not suitable enough for her? I don't believe I would have gotten the implants myself for such a short term life goal as a pageant but I realize that people do all sorts of things to win pageants..I've seen it personally. I don't think we should condemn her for the implants but it does should some duality on her part. Do as I say, not as I do. You can't half way do this type of thing because people will find some discrepancy to hold your feet to the fire and it looks like this Huff Po blogger has done that.

I disagree with her on gay marriage but feels she has a right to her opinion..but really wish she's let the rightful winner of the pageant serve her reign and do her thing elsewhere and stop associating herself with the pageant because she didn't win. It's kind of self serving at this point..JMHO.”

JHawkKC replied on May 04, 2009 at 13:53:46

“You definitely have the right to your opinion as she has the right to her opinion. I applaud her for standing up for her core beliefs which are shared by many, especially if you look at how people are voting and not at the few judges that make decisions that are contrary to the majorities of their states. If the people vote, their is no gay marriage. If the judges rule the people have no say in the matter.”

“Thank you Madam Secretary for a well thought out article. And thank you for acknowledging all that this President inheirted. Newt Gingrich was on the Today's show basically trying to force President Obama to own all that GW Bush left behind. As if his just saying it is Obama's makes it so. Well it is Obama's to clean up but I don't know of any other President in history that has created such a mess while in office as Bush did. Was there anything that he didn't break? Because I swear he broke EVERYTHING!”

Cougars And MILFs Rule! 40 Year-Old Women Are WAY Hotter Than 20 Year-Olds!

Commented Mar 26, 2009 at 22:44:42 in Style

“As a 40 year old woman I guess I should take this article as a compliment but I don't. I will not speak for all 20 year olds but when I was 20 I really didn't have a sense of self. I was trying to be who other people wanted me to be. At 40, I realize that while blessed a beautiful body at 20, I had no life experience. I think a lot of the spirit that you see in women my age comes from life experience and we are taking better care of ourselves. And not all 40 year olds come by their bodies honestly. Demi Moore has had so much plastic surgery that a lot of her parts are under the age of 20. So you really can't judge her as a 40 year old.

I don't like articles that pit women against each other and diminish us to who is hotter. I have a 21 year old and I don't compare myself to her because I'm not 20 and never will be again..nor do I want to be. Twenty was hard.”

I no longer watch as much as I used to. He's turned me off. And Joe has a habit of talking over people who have an opposing point of view instead of listening and offering a coherent rebuttal. He was getting better but he's slipping back into it. It's a shame because all in all I like Joe. He's kind of sexy.”
