“At this point Obama could resurrect good ole Ronnie Regan, nominate him for a cabinet position and the Republicans would block it. My guess is they would even call him a socialist, Marxist, Maoist commie.”
“Crap? Like heavily processed cheap frozen meals and ramen noodles? People on food stamps are already eating crap regardless of what they buy. You can not have a diet healthy in fresh fruits and vegetables on food stamps.”

“That is a lie. People who dont get food stamps and have a tight food budget eat healthy.”

“While there are some exceptions to the rule, I don't think there isn't any reason someone can't eat healthy on food stamps.”
“Our defense spending should be cut by 1/3 across the board. It's ridiculous that we are lining the pockets of defense contractors, while spending billions on defense over countries like China and Russia. It's no longer about defense, it's about funding the crooked.
They spend over a Trillion dollars in Iraq then demand you accept cuts to food stamps... criminal.”
“The best part is we live in a country where these billboards can go up in the first place. Free and open debate and an exchange of opinions is what makes this country and all other countries that allow freedom of speech so wonderful.
You would never see something like this in the middle east, that alone says a lot.”

“really, try putting up a picture of mohammed anywhere here in the USA>..”
“Actually the American people did not vote in the Tea Party. Do know that in the last election if your totaled all the votes received in house elections, Democrats got about a million more of those votes.
The ONLY reason Republicans control the house is gerrymandering of districts.”
“You have no idea how food stamps work do you? States DO run the programs they just receive federal tax money to help pay for them. But in truth they shouldn't be run by the states because the states have done a horrendous job of it.
In Indiana Republican governors have outsourced the entire program to private corporations. That means a private company with a financial incentive to deny people now gets to decide who eats and who doesn't.
You need to stop watching Fox news and open your eyes for a change.”

“They just receive federal money...yeah. Exactly. That money comes with strings. The money is taxed from the people in the states, and returned for the states to spend if they follow x, y, z. Instead, scrap the food stamp program federally reduce the federal taxes by an equal amount. Then the states can, if they so choose, increase their own taxes to generate the same amount of revenue and hand out the food stamp programs as they see fit. The good side of this is that it leads to 50 different plans. If some state comes up with something that works great, then it may be duplicated by others. If someone comes up with a stinker, then others may adjust to remove those elements. I don't watch Fox news. Quit making assumptions about people you disagree with, it just makes you look silly.”
“Shows how little Republicans care about improving our economy. No jobs bills, no farm bill.... nothing, and now this. Pretty sick that an entire party would watch America tank just to have a better chance of winning the presidency.
This latest stunt is going to explode in their face though.”
“Actually I doubt that, McCain has an insight into what war is really like and worse being a POW. Something Obama or Bush doesn't have. I'm not a McCain fan other then I respect his service and I disagree with him on many of his political ideas.
But I don't believe McCain would needlessly or carelessly throw away American lives. He simply believes that America should have a more interventionist role in policing the world. It's a role we simply can not afford to fill anymore.
The other problem with politicians of his age is to many are also still living in the cold war, we won it's over and it's time to move on. We still have an embargo against Cuba for god's sake.”

“Boy, that's for sure! I agree with your whole comment.”
“Problem is the Arab League says Assad should be punished, but they don't do anything... they just condemn him and then look at us. Britain had enough after Iraq and the French talk tough but aren't going to do a damn thing.
The UN is like the League of Nations, shaking their finger while Japan and Germany ate up territory, but not actually doing ANYTHING.”
“It's all in the definition of what is "war". Every president since 1973 has completely ignored the War Powers Resolution, Republican and Democrat all argued it unconstitutional. And a valid argument exists for that.
Personally I think a President needs limited ability to launch military strikes. If we find the location of a terrorist camp somewhere, he should have the ability to hit it without first getting approval from congress. Some argue even that requires congressional approval.
Looking at today's do nothing congress, with Republicans who pass nothing and have set the all time record for filibusters... yeah I think the president needs that power.”
“Obama also said they wouldn't be raiding legal medical dispensary's.... look how truthful that turned out to be.”

“That's a very precise point to be made and watched carefully. There are two men I have read about in particular who have lost everything in spite of both following state law to the letter. And no interference from the White House on their behalf.”
“Problem is it could all be staged anyways. Assad wouldn't let the UN inspect the site of the attack for an entire week. Why we should just have a blanket global ban on chemical weapons. Regardless of who fired them it just shows how poorly these things are being contained and safeguarded.”
“What would you have him do? If a two bit despot is gassing his own people should we just sit around and keep warning them? Maybe Hitler would of stopped gassing the Jews if we had just asked him nicely.
The real question is why is the world looking to use as always. Last time I checked Britain has aircraft carriers and the same cruise missiles we have... because we sold them to the Brits.”
“Syria has Soviet anti-aircraft weapons, why risk drones being shot down (and then turned over to the Russians to examine) when a few dozen tomahawk cruise missles will do the same job. Plus they are much harder to down.”
