“ I'm a retired Naval Aviator with over 22 years of service, over 950 carrier landings, and have been water boarded twice as a part of my training. Why do I suspect that you aren't a "soldier" - have never been a "soldier" - and would avoid being a "soldier" at all costs?”
“Well - a shallow thinker like you sure knows how to avoid proving their point, eh?”
LDF on Apr 16, 2013 at 19:51:35
“Uhhhh . . . deep thinker . . . you're the one that tried to make your point. I just asked you for your citations. I never even tried to make one point. You claim I was trying "to avoid proving" my point. What point was I trying to make . . . except that you had no citations?
What is it with you whingers . . . is it absolutely impossible for you to think logically?
That's just a rhetorical question , , , the answer is obvious.”
“Which has to do with what, exactly? Gore attended meetings, conferences and studied scientific papers. He's no scientist, but he does have a better understanding than most of us who aren't, and it was based on more than one single news story.”
“That is so PROFOUND of you to observe. The fact that the figures are complete falsehoods and are twisted and misrepresented has no influence on your belief at all, does it? "There are none so blind as those that WILL not see."”
“Isn't that odd? Reuters, hardly a "right wing" news source, just printed a report that scientists are completely baffled at the cessation of "global warming". Perhaps the GOP congressman is right, eh?”
SeriouslySushi on Apr 16, 2013 at 19:33:40
“Does it literally say that global warming has ceased?”
Jim Milks on Apr 16, 2013 at 19:32:34
“No. That Reuters article used Tol and Lomborg as its main sources. Given their collective histories, the article is hardly surprising.”

“what report are you talking about?
LONDON | Mon Mar 26, 2012 2:30pm EDT
(Reuters) - The world is close to reaching tipping points that will make it irreversibly hotter, making this decade critical in efforts to contain global warming, scientists warned on Monday.
Scientific estimates differ but the world's temperature looks set to rise by six degrees Celsius by 2100 if greenhouse gas emissions are allowed to rise uncontrollably.
As emissions grow, scientists say the world is close to reaching thresholds beyond which the effects on the global climate will be irreversible, such as the melting of polar ice sheets and loss of rainforests.
"This is the critical decade. If we don't get the curves turned around this decade we will cross those lines," said Will Steffen, executive director of the Australian National University's climate change institute, speaking at a conference in London.”
Bob Morrow on Apr 16, 2013 at 18:58:50
“SOME scientists said they are baffled...SOME.
Reuters didn't go around and talk to the thousands of scientists worldwide working on climate issues to write that article. They DID talk to SOME who have questions.”

“Is this the same fool, quoting the same sources over and over again?
Studies that have not been peer reviewed are worth precisely nothing.”
“ Sir, this is going to come as a complete shock to you, but, in reality YOU are the psychopath!!”

“Really? Why? Because I don't believe in torturing, imprisoning and murdering innocent human beings do to ignorance, psychotic fear and racism I also don't follow those who do these things or allow them to happen willingly. That would be you.
Wow that was simply obvious.”
“They're not Americans!! They don't merit trials. But, then, according to Eric Holder, neither do American citizens in the right circumstances.”
SkyCap on Apr 16, 2013 at 20:38:52
“Well, actually, you are incorrect. The Constitution does not specify that only citizens have a right to trial. It says no PERSON shall be without that right.
From a practical perspective, international relations would be pretty bad if, say, Europe and the US didn't guarantee that each others' citizens wouldn't be arrested and imprisoned without trials. If some little 3rd world nation pulled that with a US citizen, they'd be declared an illegitimate dictatorship, and rightly so.
The worst thing about your statement is how you said foreigners don't 'merit' trials. You didn't just do the usual BS argument stating there isn't an explicit legal requirement to give foreigners trials--you implied they don't even deserve them. This kind of disrespect toward people is deranged. If you feel YOU deserve an inalienable right because its the just thing, then it applies to all people.
But maybe you just meant terrrrrrrists don't deserve trials. Well, here we come full circle. How can you argue they are terrorists if you don't show the evidence in a trial? If they are guilty, SHOW...THE...EVIDENCE. You can't argue that you don't need to prove someone guilty because you know they're guilty. That makes no sense and creates room for abuse.
That's all a trial is--keeping the government honest.”
