“There is no lie or distortion too shameful for the leaders of the Republican Party and their followers.
when did common decency get replaced by hateful partisan political attacks?

This "holier then thou" hypocritical preacher was a serious GOP candidate. Talk about scraping the bottom of the barrel .
What is Obamacare anyway? These bastards just make things up and demonize them. They are truly the political party of lies, hate, and failure!”

“Boy, it doesn't take much for the Dems and the liberals and the Huff Post to eat their own. No wonder the GOP, a minority party with failed and truly damaging policies, controls the debate in this country and pushes the Dems around.

Before you start attacking your own for unrealistic idealism in politics, remember the alternatives:
Gingrich, Palin, Grassley, McCain, Libaugh, Hannity, Joe the Plumber, Michelle Bachman, Cheney etc.

Obama's on the right path, support him or you're going to put the wackos on the right in power again.”

“How is this any worse then Pelosi taking impeachment off the table, or Bush, Cheney and Rove, not being held accountable for their many crimes and abuse of power, all in the name of moving forward politically and not looking back.

The progressive agenda unfortunately is a minority agenda in this country. Obama is a pragmatist. If you believe anything else you are accepting the right wing hate talkers and failure supporters propaganda about him being a Socialist.

If this memo is true, he got something for nothing from Big Pharma and got closer to one of his goals getting health insurance for the uninsured and lowering the costs for everyone else.

There is no room for political idealism in our $ driven Democracy.”

“Impossible to know if it's real or not? But lets say it is. Right now we are getting nothing from "Big Pharma", for the obscene profits allowed them, in the medicare bill passed by the Republicans in 04 that created the so-called doughnut hole and plan D in medicare which nobody understands. And which cost $720 billion (almost as much as Obama's stimulus plan). And which didn't allow the government to negotiate for lower drug costs.

So if this memo is right, we are seeing Obama pragmatism in action. It ain't pretty or progressive. But it simply reinforces the status quo, but unlike The Republicans he gets something in return from Big Pharma for this reinforcement, $80 billion kick back for health care budget reduction and their support to push through his lower health care costs and pay for some advertising in support of it.

Unfortunately, this is how are screwed up Government works, you take a step backwards from change to move two steps forward toward progress. In any case Bush is gone and we've got a President trying to do the right thing despite a corrupt system.”

“She took impeachment off the table with unbelievable evidence supporting it, because she feared a negative political response. There is no way she will have the guts to push back at these blue dog traitors, with your brilliant suggestion. Harry Reid is just as weak in the Senate. They are in those leadership roles not because they are leaders but because they are survivors and rate their successes on getting re-elected not what good they do for the country.

I hated Tom DeLay , not just because he was a crook but because he was so damn good at pushing through the House, Bush, Cheney's and Rove's desires and ultimate failures. He used a similar tactic to what you are suggesting and it worked everytime. There was not one so called blue dog Republican in the house and there still isn't.
If the Democrats blow this chance and don't deliver on affordable health care for all, because their own party members delay, water it down, and let the Republican's, the party of failure, take control of their actions and the debate under the bullshit guise of bi-partisanship, come 2010, they are going to lose their majority, and by 2012, Palin and Gigrich will be taking over.”

Just another oh so obvious reason why improving our education system is so critical for the future of this country. Not only are the voters that put this bum in office dumb, but Sanford is even dumber!

“So let me get this straight according to the Supreme Court there are laws the President and the VP are above, such as the "Privacy Act". And this is the only law that can be imposed for them outing a covert CIA agent for political gain and for fraud upon the electorate and Congress to lie us into a "pre-emptive, un-necessary war on the wrong battlefield.
OK Obama, here is your precedent, now forget all this bipartisan nonsense and start doing something you were elected for.
Bush and Cheney and Rove figured it out long ago. There is nothing they will be held accountable for, no matter how gross an abuse of political power or even the law.
Now it's the Dems turn. So start jamming health care, financial regulation, alternative energy, and job creation down the GOP's throats and stop worrying about the consequences.”

hidenout replied on Jun 22, 2009 at 20:38:55

“That's not what the Supreme Court ruled, but go ahead and spin it that way.

The elected not to hear the case. The US Court of Appeals ruled the Privacy Act does not cover the offices of the President or Vice President. Nothing new there.

Obama doesn't have the fortitude to "shove" it down the GOP's throat. He wants everyone to like him. Hence, all the free advertising he's giving ABC, Leno, etc.

And by the way, you can't shove health care down everyone's throat, where's the money to come from? You can't shove alternative energy down everyone's throat, it can't possibly fulfill our current energy needs. You can't shove job creation down everyone's throat, because the only jobs government can create is government jobs, and we know how productive government jobs can be.

My suggestion, get rid of everyone in Congress and start fresh. That is the only way any of this will change, no matter which side you are on.”

In other words, they exist to sell lies and they accuse those who don't accept and repeat these lies as having equal value to the real truth, to be biased or part of the liberal media.”

“Why does the mainstream media give these bums these platforms? Don't they have enough broadcast media time, like 24/7 on AM radio and Fox News, to spread their talking points and propaganda? These is what happens when the Democrats, such as Pelosi put impeachment on the table, and the President wants to move forward without investigating these corrupt wind bags and exposing their lies and past criminal behavior.
They complain the Dems are going after them when just the opposite is happening. The Dems keep turning the other cheek and not investigating these lawbreakers which just gives them more exposure and energy to attack the Dems and the President with their lies and propaganda.
Damn it when are the name brands in the Democratic Party going to get tough and go after these guys and put them on the defensive and shut them up?”

“Specter is a self serving Republican at heart, who went along with almost everything Bush wanted for the past 8 years and almost everything anti-Clinton for the 8 years before that. Why is his switch to the Dems a bigger deal then Franken getting screwed by Coleman and Pawlenty and the GOP's efforts to overturn an election? Franken is a far more important addition to the Dem majority in the Senate, yet neither the name brand Dems nor the mainstream media seem to care about this precedent setting GOP obstructionism.
The President praises Specter and speaks about him positively at his press conference, yet not a peep out of the White House about Franken getting screwed and the Democratic Party getting shoved around by the loser Coleman.
Now all the media (Sunday talk shows etc.) is all about Republicans grabbing the lead in defining
what kind of Justice Obama should and will appoint.
Obama needs to remember besides being President he is the head of the Democratic Party and stop being so timid and accomodating to GOP talking points, and spokespeople.”

Coleman learned the Rove,Cheney and Bush lesson well, the political end justifys whatever means it takes. If you have to shred the Constitution, deprive people of their votes in Florida and Ohio, or set a truly undemocratic precedent for trying to deny the will of the voters by legal stalling, it's OK if your a Republican. And you will get the full support of the GOP. Even with Bush and Cheny gone these bums continue to give the voters the finger in their "permenant campaign" for power. If Coleman tries to appeal this and obstruct the will of the voters in Minn. one second longer, and no Republicans including the purely partisan Govenor Pawlenty, oppose his efforts, they must be exposed by the media and every name brand Democrat with access to the media including the President, for their anti-American, and anti-Democracy stance.

This is setting a despicable precedent for every loser to obstruct the voting rights and will of the people in any election! If The Democrats in power don't make a big deal out of this obvious attempt by the GOP and Coleman to reverse the outcome of an election of a Senator they are as corrupt as Coleman and the GOP.”

We have lost Afghanistan and probably nuclear armed Pakistan to the Taliban, also funded by our tax dollars. Al Qaeda is stronger than ever. Iran is close to having Nuclear weapons. Hama has taken over Palestine. Hezbollah controls Lebanon and Iran and Syria finance them. Domestically we are in worst recession since the Great Depression caused by Republican de-regulation and economic neglect. Unemployment is running at about 1/2 a million lost jobs a month. Health care is unaffordable. Our public education system is falling apart from Republican neglect. We are more dependent on foreign oil then ever, and going broke paying for it. Global warming is out of control due to Republican denial. "Trickle down" tax cuts for the rich failed miserably. We owe foreign governments trillions of dollars, and our GDP is in minus territory.
