“I say healthier only due to the lack of oil involved. The meat was quite moist as the basket it is encased in does not have hot air rushing past it like a grill or many ovens with internal fans. And the skin was nice and crispy. Taste-wise I'd say halfway between an oil fried and oven broiled bird. Much, much better? Depends on the amount of wine, beer and whiskey consumed prior to sitting down.
My wife likes it because it frees up the oven for all the side dishes.
Enjoy your holiday!”

“I've made a "fried" turkey in my Charbroil Big Easy Infrared Fryer for 4 years now and it's come out tender and juicy on the inside and crisp on the outside each time. (No I don't work for Charbroil) Its safe as well as healthier.
I only tried this when my son-in-law said he wanted to fry a turkey a few years ago and all I could picture in my mind was a firetruck and ambulance.”

“Healthier? I'm not convinced lol. But is it way way way better than originally cooked turkey?”
“"Nuclear option", really? Talk about scare tactics in slogans. A nuclear option implemented use to mean the end of most life on this planet. In this case, Harry threatens, yet again, to take a stick away from a bunch of bullies who can't get there way by any other means. The only similarity I can picture is Harry and his folks hiding under their desks in fear of a bunch of rabble like we were told to do in school in the early 60's.”
“They expected to take the White House at the last election but they still don't know what they want? Were they just planning on setting the budget at zero and stop governing altogether except for the 2nd Amendment? I don't recall that part of their platform.”
“I just BBQ'd 2 inch steaks on the grill for lunch. Take them out of the fridge about 15-20 before cooking. Seared on all sides and then indirect heat (about 600F) for about 8-10 minutes. The key, as mentioned by someone above, is internal temperature. I go for 140F internal temperature and then let them rest for a few minutes. Add sweet potatoes, green beans and red wine and its heaven.”

“you eat SWEET potatoes with your STEAK???”

“That's exactly the best way to do it!”

“Just to be clear (and admittedly a bit persnickety) you grilled your steaks. BBQ is low, slow, and usually involves smoke.”
“Bush was the pilot that led us to war and personally approved torture in meetings with his cabinet. Is there any doubt about that? In fact, has he ever said he was mislead with information or didn't know?”

“"personally approved torture in meetings with his cabinet. Is there any doubt about that?" - That is because there is no record of him personally approving torture. I am a Veteran who put his life on the line for this country. I've lost many brothers and sisters in arms to those animals. If hooking jumper cables from a car battery to their fingers will keep American Service Members alive, I have one thing to say. Red is positive and black is negative! Most Liberals have never served in the Military or being forced into a situation to defend themselves by force. As such, I don't expect you or any other Liberal who fits that description to understand. One other point, you refuse to respond to the obvious Liberal hypocrisy regarding Pontiff Obama and his using the NSA and IRS to police anyone and everyone who disagrees with him.”
“Actually, you would not fire the head of the airline unless he set a guideline that said pay no attention to the cockpit, you'd fire the pilot and co-pilot.”
phantastic830 on Nov 3, 2013 at 07:47:39
“That's completely the opposite of what Liberals screamed about at the top of their lungs for when Bush was President. They wanted him out of office for anything and everything. Your response doesn't carry validity because of Liberal hypocrisy.”
“Netflix, well done. Feel free to fire photon torpedoes at full spread toward the typical call center model with endless menu options and people armed with few answers other than "please hold while I transfer you".”
Healthcare insurance in the Netherlands is mandatory
Since 1988, the Brazilian constitution has guaranteed that everyone have access to medical care in Brazil. This service can be obtained from the public national health system, from private providers subsidized by the federal government via the Social Security budget, or from the private sector via private insurance or employers.
Medical care is available to anyone who is legally in Brazil, which, of course, includes foreign residents.
According to the World Health Organization, Germany's health care system was 77% government-funded and 23% privately funded as of 2004.
I'll give you REASONABLE voter ID requirements. You give me healthcare for all.”
“Shares fell as much as .70 %, really? A $60+ share dropped about a half a buck. It could have dropped that much because a broker didn't come back from a late lunch in time to by a block of shares. Is anyone reading the copy before it gets printed?
The real news here is not how much the stock dropped which is negligible, but that JPM wants to pay off the Justice Dept $13B, some of which they will write-off which means more tax money to these crooks, to avoid any criminal prosecutions and cut off any further investigations justified on not.”
“I was lucky in that I go onto Medicare in another month. But my wife is still on private insurance. Both our policy premiums had been going up from 20-25% every year. This was after being rejected policies by two other insurers for "pre-existing conditions - ie age. But she was just notified that the medication portion of hers is cancelled because they can't/won't meet ACA requirements. They didn't say what ACA requirements, just blamed ACA.
I got her a policy with someone else. Our insurance agent says the reason its almost the same coverage but with a premium at 50% less is because ACA has limited the permissible premium gap between youngest and oldest policy holders.
“I just renewed my homeowner's policy and before signing told the agent that I should not have to pay for coverage of guns as I do not and have never had any in my home. The response was that it comes with the policy and there is no savings available by eliminating it.
Meanwhile, I pay extra for a small woodstove on a cement pad in front of a brick wall and you can bet I'd pay extra for a pool in the yard if I had one.
The problem is that too few people can see anything wrong with this picture of our society.”
