How My Lawsuit Against the TSA Made Airports Safe For the Constitution Again

Commented Nov 11, 2009 at 11:00:22 in Politics

“Thank You Thank You Thank You! I also will NEVER subject myself to the xray machine that is so invasive that they can see if a woman has a t-m--x. My friend who works at a London airport said that once they had a super model pass through one of those things and the buzz was that all the men close enough to gather in the room did....just for kicks. Years ago one guy makes a clumsy attempt to plant a bomb in his shoe and we all have to remove our shoes forever while drunk pilots attempt to fly the planes and they still resist giving mandatory breath and drug test to pilots before fleights.”

Terrorism, Religious Extremism, and the Fort Hood Massacre

Commented Nov 10, 2009 at 21:53:57 in Politics

“People throughout history have used religion to perpetrate the most horrendous crimes against humanity imaginable. Yes, mental illness is the short answer, but religion gives the cause and madness validity. "If you are killing for god it is a justified cause". Religion gives the permission to act on the madness.”

Terrorism, Religious Extremism, and the Fort Hood Massacre

Commented Nov 10, 2009 at 18:06:24 in Politics

“The frightening thing to me is that we spend months and millions to train our troops to kill the enemy and to not look back or hedge. Then we send them to a country where they can not even understand the language and they watch and participate in the horrors of war. Then we expect them to come home without any prejudice against Muslims and to top it off we put a Muslim in a role to help these guys get reestablished in their homeland. Do you think we might be setting one or the other up to fail here? How many times did Hassan have to hear how much his Muslim brothers were hated by the very men and women he was placed there to help? How many of the right winged Christian indoctrinated army folks belittled and threatened him either by innuendo or outright? He did not belong with his American brothers and he was afraid because he did not belong in Iraq where they planned to send him. Any sane man anywhere could possibly crack under that kind of pressure? This is not to dismiss the deed, but to place much of the responsibility on the Army that set this horrible scenario up in the first place. They saw it coming and ignored it. I hate all religion and what it does to people.”

“Shut them all down....every company who has cheated or stolen from the government and the nation will stop in it's tracks. Be careful what you wish for republicans.....we just may stop all the corrupt companies like halliburton and blackwater and even the churches that receive millions in tax breaks and incentives too. For the first time in a long time I am proud to be left and am really proud that Congressman Grayson is speaking yup with the truth. We thought we had our hero with Obama, but we needed you to wake up the House. Ms. Wells....great job!”

Cyndy Keith replied on Oct 06, 2009 at 00:11:25

“After they stop the companies, maybe they can stop the politicians who were responsible for awarding the contracts to the companies. The politcians knew what was going on. I like something that Bill Maher said, " We don't need the senate", and he's right. They do nothing. Fill the house with as many Graysons as we can, dump the senate, and we might see a change.”

Do You Agree with President Carter's Comments?

Commented Sep 17, 2009 at 17:10:56 in Politics

“I agree fully with President Carter. I have sat at a dinner table at a country club with educated men and women and heard Obama called the N..... word as easily as you could imagine. I have attended the "Tea Party " in my community and I saw the signs. I have listened to the hateful and racist comments from the radio personalities and TV reporters. To not think that racism is an issue is putting your head in the sand. The folks who have genuine problems with various policies ...by their actions...have incited and given permission to the dangerous factions out there who would use their voice to justify just about anything to get this president out of office. I mean anything! The thought is frightening. We live in a free country and I made jokes about Bush when I was angry about all the crap he pulled, but there is an undertone here that is more dangerous that that. I kept hearing the chant at the Tea Party that " They have awakened a sleeping giant " . I would say to them ....Be careful what you wish for because you do not know where that anger will end and you can not control everyone out there. To incite such hatred is dangerous.”

“16 years ago Americans rose up and told Congress and the President they did not want government run health care.

Now Americans have again risen and said they do not want government run health care. Except this time we have a black President so it must be racial.

The problem is the same both times. The issue is NOT race.”

“I was mad as hell for eight years watching as we were pulled into an illegal war and our rights were taken away systematically. I watched torture become commonplace and spying on Americans become the norm.I watched out national debt triple and was embarrassed over and over at the scandals and corruption cases ( I stopped counting them at 35) that the members of my government were involved in. I know what it felt like to be angry. This anger towards our President is just pay backs for the left taking power after they botched it so badly and the fact that they can not find a single thing on this guy. Therefore they have to question his birth, his religion his race, his home life, his marriage and his motives. They have nothing on him and they can not stand it! RACISM< RACISM”

Diamonds Are a God's Best Friend

Commented Sep 06, 2009 at 07:46:12 in Living

“No he isn't. Mr. Godis

Jeff this was really interesting and I enjoyed it. One of my sons was talking about the value of diamonds and told the story about putting a shiny object in a bottle to catch a monkey. The monkey puts his hand in the bottle to grasp the object and then will not let go because of his greed. He is caught and caged for the rest of his life....all for greed. By the way...what ever happened to the man made diamond industry that took hold for a moment a few years ago. I understood that they had created diamonds so flawless that they had to etch them with a laser marking to tell the difference. Did the diamond industry buy up the patten for the process?”

hp blogger Jeff Schweitzer replied on Sep 06, 2009 at 11:02:55

“The synthetic diamond industry is alive and well; the product is used in manufacturing rather than as jewelry, mainly in products like sandpaper and to harden the cutting edge of specialized tooling.

By the way, to all who have commented; thank you. I hope that everybody recognizes that the blog was less about diamonds than about our collective gullibily in believing the unbelievable, and how that relates to religion.”

“I have said it before.....If there is really evil on this planet....it is most likely religion. It has seeped into our minds and completely controlled us throughout history using greed, deception, graft, lies, immorality, abuse, murder, torture, subjugation, exclusion, fear, superstition, and hatred. I think religion must be Satan and those who follow religion blindly and without question are the ones doomed to suffer the consequences of that evil. The bible says that we will not recognize Satan because he is the master of deception. Sounds like religion to me. This is all just food for thought....I do not believe in Satan either... :) ....The scary thing is that most people can not get through the day without religion.....or antidepressants. Poor fools.”

“Homosexuality is a fiber in the human condition. It is here to stay and it has been here since the beginning of time so we need to embrace it and weave it into the system as well as we can. There are many advantages to legitimizing same sex marriages that would strengthen society. They represent 10 % of the voting population and they as married full fledged participants in our society they would add a new source of revenue in many areas as well as more stable families for children whether they want to believe it or not.”

“Please you tell me that you don't have a clue as to the basic rights that are awarded to married couples. Tax laws and breaks, child care, health issues and legitimacy, community property, inheritance rights, decision making in health issues, applying for loans and co habitation laws in some areas, just to name a very few. You are so used to having these entitlements that you don't even realize they are there.”

BCman replied on May 28, 2009 at 14:34:44

“I thought the subject was married without children. There are no tax breaks if you are married and have no children. As for loans, I've taken out loans with people I wasn't married too. Health decisions can be taken care with a POA. Inheritance rights are state by state laws and regulations. Pardon my ignorance, I don't know what you mean by cohabitation laws. As for health insurance, many companies are privileges to both straight and gay unmarried couples. As for being married without kids health insurance is cheaper if you each have your own plan.”

We know the war was an illegal ruse and we have discovered that our leaders willfully used rendition and secret prisons as well as went against the Geneva Convention by torturing, so what are we waiting for? I do take issue with the way people relinquish the most important aspect in their lives ( their spirituality )to power hungry preachers without actually asking themselves why they follow a certain faith or belief. Most were born to their religion. Not many look within themselves and not many take the time to really search their own hearts for whatever answers they are seeking and make their own decisions based on what they know to be their truth. They are lazy..”
