“Interesting article. I find it odd that it fails to acknowledge the move by the Obama Administration to allow for abortions on military posts overseas. But that really wouldn't it help drive home it's point, would it?

The article seems to ignore all the different services every service provides member of either sex if they are abused or in trouble. Be it Command sponsored advocacy programs, civilian counselors or some variant in-between every situation I read about there has a place of redress. I'm not so ignorant as to realize some of those offices will never meet the needs of these people but efforts have been made and continue to be made to make the US military a fair and safe place to be for either sex. Are we their yet. No. But we are getting better every day. And the experiences shared in that article will help point us in the right direction.”

Mandates don't get bills made into law. Cooperation and long hours do. We have zero republican votes after zero republican cooperation, an Independent whose state is home to one of the biggest insurance corporations in the country, if not the world who would stand to lose, financially if he supported the bill and several blue dogs who really should be considered liberal republicans who have all derailed the original bill. The president is not the king and cannot bypass the Constitutionally protected mechanisms of checks and balances. Congress must pass these laws, not the president.”

Because no one wants to come to your country and take your resources or enslave your people, right? Seriously, we could just leave Afghanistan without an army because Pakistan would never set foot beyond the borders for any reason whatsoever, right? And Iran would never seek to annex Afghanistan at all, right?

Sheesh...what are we all....smoking, no pun intended? We should just take your advice and disband the American military because it is completely unnecessary and just sucks up tax dollars for no reason.”

To the Republicans the country and the people in it are irrelevant and just tools to getting what they want. Better be sure they don't come in to power soon or we'll go back to where we were a year ago and have to clean up their ugly messes all over again.
