60+ House Democrats Say "Any" Health Bill With No Public Option Is "Unacceptable"

Commented Dec 26, 2009 at 22:10:55 in Politics

“The media won't give this much (if any coverage) because the media has been against the LEFT, contrary to the spin the right makes. It's quite clearly rightwing media bias. Look at all the tea baggers and off the wall nutjobs, and all the press they get for being wackos. This may benefit the Dems so of course the media won't push it. That's the party of no ideas/no plans plan.....destroy this administration.”

“I totally disagree. For one thing, putting Clnton in will appear as it is, a move simply to put a woman in to combat Palin; secondly, HRC as a running mate wold turn the undecideds to McCain fo sure; and thirdly, it's obvious by her lack of campaigning for Obama (ok, a couple good words/appearances) that her heart and mind simply is NOT into it.

I too think Biden is an excellent choice and in the end think we'll all be happy with O/B on the tiket.

Ha ha ha That's a great idea golfing. I also suck at photoshop or I'd do it.

I'm glad people are finally noticing this. It seems everyone has to walk on eggshells not to offend McCain's service, but this is getting ridiculous. I do hope Biden is chosen. Between your "joker" idea and the "none, verb & 911" I think the Dems have coined a couple of appropriate phrases.”

7 Days: Sorensen on Kennedy & Obama...And Why McCain Won't Exploit Edwards' Scandal

Commented Aug 10, 2008 at 10:37:24 in Politics

“I think they SHOULD discuss McCain's infidelty. Not necessarily because "I" want to hear it, but that's the way the MSM plays. Let's face it. There are so many more important things (i;e. war, economy) but NOOOOOOOO, these stories are what is important to the MSM and some of the naive public. So, IF Edwards affairs constitutes news, then YES, "golden boy' McCain needs to be in the spotlight. Leaving a very sick wife; carrying on with Cindy while still married to his first wife. Come on John Boy, it's your turn. Yea, and the media leans left? My a**.”

7 Days: Sorensen on Kennedy & Obama...And Why McCain Won't Exploit Edwards' Scandal

Commented Aug 09, 2008 at 21:22:42 in Politics

“I agree with Noticed. IF the media so obviously thinks and, is pushing the Edwards story, A "former" Presidential candidate who had an affair, it sure as hell should push the "current" Republican candidate's extra marital woes. I could tell by McCain's comment yesterday, simply "I have no ca---comment (yes stuttering) that he sure as sh*t didn't want to talk about it. It's more valid to discuss his affairs, since the media is so judgemental and high and mighty. I want to hear about Mccain's dirty deeds. (I say that with sarcasm, but do feel what's good for one is good for the other) The MSM opened this can of worms that the Enquirer started.

If only you guys would investigate impeachment and war crimes of Bush. Since you turned tabloid though this is right you your collective alleys. Yea, I'd love for all of our Presidents to be "affair" free, but I certainly think there are other issues more important for running a country.”

“Glad for the input. I am concerned that the race is so tight (if polls are to be believed). I think with the very successful trip for Obama, that next week he should see a pretty good bounce. If not, however, I won't know what to make of it. I do think the media tends to pick/choose whatever poll seems beneficial to Mr. McCain. Even if Obama is ahead by one - 4 points, they love calling it tied or bringing up the fact the McCain did gain ground. Still, he is behind.

Anyway, I hope Obama wins by a landslide, yet will be perfectly happy if he wins by one vote. A win is a win. We must be very critical though of the media. Anyone know which polls are not biased toward McCain?”

“Boy oh boy, truer words were never spoken. I totally agree with you. It's as though, God forbid, anybody every questions McCain or prey tell, ask him a difficlt question. It's like they walk on eggshells to protect St. John Boy.

I too heard just today on the MSM asking the same question and couldn't believe that some of the pundits thought this was true. Nobody mentioned the fact that all the media coverage Barack has gotten has been negative, questioning him his experience or whatever. This guy has been vetted 100 times over I'll tell you that much.

My guess is, because today Obama is actually for once getting a positive "review" with his overseas trip, that the McCain camp is whinning and with McCain's war plans down the toilet, they simply must blame Obama for something to take the attention away from them.

Thanks for confirming what we all know. If you have any other ideas as to who we can write or call (that'll actually accomplish something) please, let us know. I'm ready to sound off.”

“No doubt dear, there are haters on both sides, but I think mostly on the HRC end (after all you were on the losing end of the deal). Not to say I wouldn't be totally be and a little mad (at first) if Obama had lost, but I know I wouldn't be in anyway shape or form threatening to go to McCain, nor would I vote for any of the Indys. I think HRC is capable. Can your group say the same thing? Obviously, most can not. I'd try to focus on the fact that thank God, chances of getting rid of Bush ideas are on the way out with a good chance at a democratic win. Whether it had been Hillary or BHO.

I haven't heard too many say they'll defect if HRC is VP, although I know some have. Like with most of the HRC supporters, I think in the end they will be few and far between.”

No. I don't think Obama is capable -- and I'm not about to say otherwise just to be polite.

I don't want to see HRC on the ticket as VP. Not only would that be a waste of her talent, but also it would put her very vital Senate seat up for grabs -- in exchange for John Nance Garner's "pot of warm spit."

What is so hard for most of us Obama supporters to get is that their policies were so much alike, and yet the hate runs deep on your end. It surely makes one think it's sheer "sexist" attitude of "It MUST be a woman" or sheer racism which explains the hate and revengeful attitudes.”

I have always voted for the liberal ticket, although if there is one issue I lean more conservative on, it IS abortion. While I try not to judge and/or know all the answers, I can't bring myself to be for abortion simply on the merit of my womanhood, my decision, my body. I really can understand some reasons why someone would want an abortion ,even if I couldn't see it for myself. But my God, just for convenience sake...simply because it's my body. I can't buy that. The person who brought up the father's right, also has a point. Daddy has to be right there (rightfully) with the child support, BUT what if he wants the baby and mommy doesnt? Mommy wins. Anyway, I guess that's a whole other issue.

Also, it IS true that he is also a politician and he does want to win. He says many times he'll reach across the aisle and compromise. Well, he also admitted this isn't exactly perfect but better than it was. I am willing to take his word on it. He is not stupid, he wants to win and I consider this phase reaching out. Once he's in office, he will have authority (or at least be in a better position) to better things like FISA.”

“My thought,

You are right. Lots of bitterness, but it's a two way street you know. Think about it. Hillary ran a great campaign, no doubt. This isn't even about Hillary anymore. Just peek in at what the Obama supporters are now seeing. "I will vote for McCain" alone spells traitor to me. Come on yourself. For any "true" Dem, those are fightin' words. They HRC fans are hurt I know, but they are taking it completely out on Obama and using their hurt feelings to turn traitor.

I have known from the beginning, especially when Clinton was ahead, that I wanted Obama. I tried to anticpate my disappointment if he lost (at the time the chances were pretty good). However, I planted it deep in my soul that IF he lost, there was no way I'd vote for McCain, because I kept telling myself (and still believe) that Hillary IS capable and a hell of a lot better than the alternative.

HRC & BHO positions were very similar, everyone seems to agree, and YET HRC fans are turning to McCain??? What's that if not traitorism and/or sour grapes. It's not a one sided thing here.”

“You know I agree with many of the replies here. Exactly who called Hillkary the C word or the B word (I'm not talking late night comics and such . I mean MSM people). I know the bloggers can be very cruel at times, but for the most part I think the MSM has been kissing Hillary's a**, walking on freekin' eggshells not to offend this woman. Even now, even as she loses not only the nomination but for me much respect that I had when i first heard she was running.

I think it's sour grapes. Obama has had much much more of a burden and scrutiny than Hillary has. Maybe because he's new and not known....I don't know. I'll say this though, in the end Hillary's Obama bashing was a great teacher to Obama. He faced the shrewdest of shrewd and remains unruffled. So much so, that I think McCain will be a cake walk to beat. Notice how much more at ease and hitting back Obama is with McCain. I'm guessing it's lessons learned and the fact that he doesn't need to handle Queen Hillary with kid gloves...because God forbid anyone of the women's libbers might say he's sexist.

I'm not buying into the poor Hillary line. It's sheer desperation.”

“I absolutely agree with you amst. Obama was definitely holding back in attacking Hillary even in the face of the Clintons' relentless on-slaught (e.g. suggesting that McCain is better qualified to be president than him, suggesting that he become her VP even though he was winning (!), etc.). Hillary saw a weakness, namely Obama purported to be a "new kind of politician" who didn't sink into the gutter to win, so he couldn't really respond to her attacks like he likely wanted to without being seen as a hypocrite and a sexist. His lack of ability to respond forcefully against her despicable tactics led him to be perceived as "weak" by many Democrats (including John Edwards). But Hillary, yet again miscalculated, by underestimating Americans desire for change and a new kind of politics.

Now that he's pretty much vanquished Queen Hillary, I bet Obama feels a huge weight has been lifted off of his shoulders. Now he can respond to McCain's attacks forcefully and not have to be as concerned about offending key segments of the Democratic base (like women (and men) who want to see the first woman president and are sensitive to sexist bias). Game on!”
