“Is the nation and the media all really so ADD that we can't wait 6 months for the sign-ups to be completed before we make a judgement. It might also help if the media devoted 1/10th of the time it spends on the play-by-play problems of the roll-out to educating people about what the ACA actually does, reminding them about what the health insurance market was like before the law, and inform people about how sign up via phone and in person if they are having problems with the website.”

“androo: I respectfully disagree. We can make judgement now. Did you have your policy cancelled? And don't even try to tell me mine was not good. It was a great policy. Did your policy double or triple in cost? The American public was lied to. The Pres. knew policies were going to be cancelled, even the really good ones. By 2018 there will be no more "Cadillac policies", oh except for the President and his family, other politicians, and their aides. Thank you very much Mr. President.
This used to be the land of the free, cross that out. Now you have to be brave.”

“So basically you want the media to stump for the democrats even more than they already do.”

“This apparently is not costing your family a week's worth of groceries every month.”

“The truth is this administration hasn't educated people about ACA because there would be even a greater uproar about the mess that it is. There will be many democrats running for cover when the **** hits the fan!”
“Do not give in on medical device tax. GOP waiting for any reason to say Obamacare isn't working and having funding lost due to the lost tax will only fuel the fire. And why shouldn't overpriced medical devices be taxed anyway? Give in in any way now - and just wait for 3 months and a rerun with even more outrageous demands. Just what the nation needs - a bunch of teabaggers full of themselves thinking they won. Do you really want to see Ted Cruz then?”
how did that happen on Oct 14, 2013 at 00:46:49
“No sweat. I think that they should triple the Medical Device Tax. Some of the companies are already planning to leave the country and take their jobs elsewhere. Why not make it so high that they ALL leave.
“Can't predict how long this will go on. No incentive for teabaggers to change their vote - they will get more and more campaign contributions every day it goes on. It's one big fundraiser - which is the only reason they are in Congress. It's not about governing - it's all about fundraising. It's not about the country - it's all about themselves. I guess it comes down to if/when Boehner allows a vote on a clean bill. He'll make the calculation about when it's best for him - not the country. Obama should not give in one bit. In six years from now Obamacare will be an excepted and important part of our lives and Ted Cruz will be voted out of office and giving speeches to teabag groups a pundit on Fox News. Thanks to Obamacare I haven't had my premiums go up in two years (used to go up 25%-35% a year for 6-7 straight years!), my 26 year old son is still covered under our family plan, we received a $500+ rebate from our insurer, and we don't have to worry about my wife's or son's asthma as a pre-existing condition if we choose to change plans.”
“Wow! Who woulda thunk that having a repeat of Hardball as a lead-in would hurt Hayes' ratings? Now, with Ed leading in, Hayes's ratings will be just fine. He has the best show on MSNBC - and that's saying a lot because Ed, Rachel and Lawrence are all great. And we can't wait for Alec Friday nights (we can watch him at 10 and then watch the repeat of Bill Maher at 11 on HBO).”
“Forget about the Republican debates. It's not like they bring in a lot of ad sales for NBC - and it certainly won't the NBC brand if they skip it. NBC should tell the Republicans that they candidates have to actually be worthy of being on NBC - and maybe it won't be such a bad comedy show. Why does NBC care?”
“'Parenthood' is the best drama on TV and has been for years. It has the best writing and some of the best acting on TV and it is a sin that NBC has nit promoted the show the way it should be promoted. I sure hope it comes back for at least one more season. I wait each week to hear Dylan sing 'Forever Young' and sit down for an hour of excellent and adult TV.”
“His religion does not forbid him from serving - but his church somehow got a special deferment for their missionaries, one other religions didn't always have. How did the Mormons get that special deal?”
“The President should tell people in his opening remarks that this is an election about what it is to be an American. That with all the loose and personal talk about what it is to be a real American, they can vote for very different kinds of America. They can choose one in which the very soup kitchen that Ryan visited yesterday would lose several thousands of dollars in federal support to help the poor and hungry survive so that Governor Romney can get a few hundred thousand dollars more in lower taxes. He should look at the audience and ask if we want an America where less fortunate and well-connected students are aided assisted in their education, progress and growth - or we can choose an America where multinational corporations reaping ever-increasing profits receive subsidies paid for with the tax dollars of those students' parents. He should ask people to 'Vote for America.' Let Romney deal with that.”
“If this is Mitt's 'new' attack plan he's in big trouble. There's not one thing new - just the same old same old. At this point you'd think they'd realize he has to actually explain how he's going to add 12 million jobs. He can't just say it. No one is buying it and why would they buy it now? And he can't keep making up things in the debate. If the moderator doesn't call him on it I'm sure Obama will. The entire debate will be questions for Romney about everything he hasn't answered yet (tax returns, details on his tax plan, details on foreign policy, how is he going to create 12 million jobs, etc. Obama will be asked about things he has actually done. Romney will be dodging questions all night and Obama will be reiterating what everyone already knows.”
“We've lost so many small businesses because companies like Bain have started huge businesses that swallow them up - not because taxes have killed them. And business who really think they alone 'built that' should think about their workers, customers and clients who helped them build that.”
“Wish Sorkin would focus more on the interesting and important tensions between the creative process of reporting/analyzing the news and the often competing business concerns - and less on the petty personal office politics and trivial love lives of the staff.”
“It's all about the tax amnesty program for Swiss bank accounts. If he took advantage of it - and admitted tax fraud - he's dead in the water. There's no way he can win if that comes out - and there's at least a chance if he doesn't release his tax info. He took the amnesty deal - and that's why he won't release them - ever.”
“Just wait until the 'mainstream' media starts asking about the computer hard drives Romney took with him when his tenure as Massachusetts Governor ended. The people of Massachusetts owned those computers and all the dat on them, but somehow Romney and his aids were allowed to but the computers. No other Governor of any state has ever taken the computers. Why did he take all the hard drives and also the mail server for his entire staff? What information was on them? How was he allowed to take them? Why was he allowed to spend more than $100,000 dollars of taxpayer money to make the purchases? Where is the backed up data?
