“The use of the nuclear weapon ended ww2, and saved millions of lives, which would have been lost by the invasion of Japan. “But after the fire started, there were witnesses, that saw him sitting on his lawn, watching the house burn down. Innocence people don't act that way. This story is about the death penalty and gulity or innocence.”

sguardians2 replied on Aug 31, 2009 at 22:03:04

“andyg, when you say "innocent people don't act that way" what are you basing your comment on? Are you an expert on how "innocent people" behave or is that just your opinion?

Just sayin.....”

shades replied on Aug 31, 2009 at 09:31:52

“Sorry Andy, you didn't read the article. At the time of the fire, witnesses said he DID try to go in. At the time of the trial, the witnesses had changed their story. This happens when the prosecutor tries to "tell them what happened". Memory isn't set in stone.”

NotEvenAmerican replied on Aug 31, 2009 at 05:15:20

“Have you even read the New Yorker article? It clearly states that witnesses did see him try to go back in.

Regardless, the arson theory has been debunked, which means the fire was accidental. A man was executed for no reason, having spent 12 years behind bars, based on evidence that freed another only months later.

Regardless of his behaviour after the fire, it's clear he didn't commit arson or murder. There isn't any argument against that.

How many other innocent people have died this way? I would say that this man wasn't the first.”

“There is other evidence, of this case having the right verdict, the evidence of abuse towards his wife and that he didn't try to save his children, instead he saved his car instead.”

shades replied on Aug 31, 2009 at 15:25:54

“No Andy, you're not paying attention. Read the New Yorker. He did try to save the children according to witnesses at the scene of the fire. The witnesses changed their stories at the trial after having been prepped by the prosecutor. Besides, the experts have, several times over, declared this was not arson. The new reports state that the original investigator had no actual knowledge of fire science and was wrong in his conclusions.”

shades replied on Aug 31, 2009 at 09:34:27

“Read the New Yorker article before commenting. Witnesses at the time of the fire said he DID try to go back in. After being manipulated by the prosecutor, the same witnesses told different stories at the trial. This man was innocent and Perry executed him.”

“Dan Rather is suing CBS, and still in denial about the story, and he the king of the left wing hacks.”

lilalove replied on Aug 30, 2009 at 17:49:15

“FOX's opinion entertainment line up, Beck, Hannity, Ingraham, Huckabee, ect, are not contracted to be journalist, which gives them the freedom to report and say pretty much anything they want. They do not have to provide proof of their claims, by way of at least 2 reliable sources, to the FOX networks editors. That's how they and the FOX network get around the ethic laws that contracted journalist are held to. They call it the "real truth". It could not be further from. Talk radio has long figured out the legal means of reporting lies and not being punished for failing to provide any truth. Pretty much all political radio shows are listed as opinion entertainment. None of them are real news. FOX has a few real news programs. Most are entertainment though.”

lilalove replied on Aug 30, 2009 at 17:48:52

“Dan Rather was punished for reporting a story that did not come from a confirmed credible source. Dan Rather has been more than forthright about his screw-up. It was a huge one for a real journalist to make. There is an issue about whether firing him over the story was unjust punishment. Dan Rather had been told by his hired staff that the story had been verified. Regardless, he is the perfect example of what happens to real journalist when they report unverified stories. You can call him a left wing hack, but he was held to a standard of ethics that had legal consequence. The story had to be retracted and Dan Rather was punished by the network. Most painful of all he lost his long record of impeccable credibility. Dan Rather was brutal to all sitting presidents, republican and democrat alike. Dan Rather is guilty of the crime of thinking he was too big to do the grunt work of back ground story investigation himself the last year of his career. His laziness and ego brought him down. That does not take away his personal long history of brilliant ethical journalism. If he was no longer able to do the long hours of fact checking himself, then he should not have attached his name to the story. His choice to do so was an epic mistake. Many think he was set up. I personally think he got lazy and it was bound to happen.”

“You should try some and hope you don't have a bad trip, and then you know for sure.”

MichaelMcKLA replied on Jul 08, 2009 at 19:40:50

“One of the things pointed out in a book I read prior to dropping acid is: Have a "flight engineer" along for the trip. This is someone who has NOT dropped and knows how to distract the tripping person from the anxiety that leads to a bad trip. This is also the person who keeps you from walking out a 12th-story window.

As a consequence of having done the reading before tripping the first time, I learned these techniques. I had to put them to use on one trip. A guy I knew wanted to trip with me, and so I shared my, ummm, chemical. LOL ...He began having problems, and so when he started to get angry or frustrated or worried, I would ask questions that turned his attention inward and defused the situation. When he chilled out, I would resume enjoying my trip.

I had to "fix" ole Pete several times that day. Everything ended well.”

Mnemanth replied on Jul 08, 2009 at 18:41:43
