“looking at the faces of the mobs at the tea parties i get the distinct impression that none of them --- except hannity and his guests --- earn more than $250,000 a year. so since all 'six million' of them (according to hannity, which probably means 300,000) pay less taxes under obama than under bush, what do they think they are griping about?”

“i feel the same way. i fear the same thing. a stolen election. if obama wins it'll jubilation. it"ll be renaissance time. if mccain wins it's going to be utter despair. I've decided to write a book about the next presidency -- the way al franken wrote rush limbaugh is a big fat slob: logging into my diary everything that the administration does. it will either be about the salvation of the country (i do believe obama is the one person on the planet who can save the earth ---that might sound crazy but i've been watching the world all my life and i think it is a totally accurate belief). if mccain win's i'm going to write about the death of america. bush and cheney nearly mortally wounded it --- mccain will finish the job. as per grand design. so: i too am in the same boat as you. i too have ruled out suicide. but i won't be able to shake the depression. and even if obama was a 101 points ahead in the polls on november third i will still believe the publicans are going to steal the election until i hear otherwise. i am scared to death. i am sick at heart. i am glad you wrote your essay.

profound observation. except: i would rather be black in a racist america than an "'enemy citizen" in a fascist country. i could be relatively safe tucked away in my harlem --- but there's no place to hide in my warsaw ghetto. Priority Three::
The pursuit of happiness. Communities (the right winger will call them ‘communes’) will be set up for orphanages and old age homes so that people can live in lovely park and gardenesque settings where the old will help educate and nurture the young and the young will help and care for the old.
A network of organizations will help cut abortions to near zero, offering to adopt the would-be abortees, offering to care for and comfort the pregnant girl or woman for the duration of her pregnancy and to compensate her afterwards. The right wing will have all kinds of reasons why this is wrong but that’s because they hypocrites who only want to use abortion as a wedge issue and truthfully could not car less about the unborn. As president, I will care for with my heart AND my powers the unborn as much as any citizen.
Veterans will be given state of the art medical treatment in state of the art hospitals. All people who need to see a doctor will see one.--- for free. And education will be free. Right wingers will say that that’s un-American. I don’t know where they would GET that but I do know the founding fathers promised us the pursuit of happiness.

We will grow enough food to fatten al live stalk and feed the whole world. People who are against feeding the world can stew on their sour grapes all they want --- but if they resist it with violence they will be imprisoned.”
