“Part of taking responsibility for your own life can very easily involve becoming a champion for the poor and oppressed.
While I personally am not a fan of Sharpton or Jackson, I do admire American heroes like Martin Luther King, Jr., Carl Stokes, Rosa Parks, Elizabeth Cady Stanton and others who refused to be victimized and instead became game changers and beacons of hope for millions of oppressed Americans.
I think it is sad when someone so completely misses the point of an article like this, which carries a fundamental message. The bottom line is that no one has any idea what life is going to throw at them, but it can seem very unfair, as the challenges are obviously distributed unevenly.
Then you throw into the mix things you have no control over that can disadvantage you in dealing with these challenges, like your gender, skin color, sexual orientation, intelligence level, physical abilities, the society you are born into, etc. To add insult to injury, people who have been less challenged usually take it as evidence of their moral superiority.
But we can count ourselves truly blessed if we are not one of the "lucky" ones, since it is in the utter acceptance required to meet these challenges that we discover our purpose here on earth.”

“"In the Bible Cain slew Abel
And East of Eden he was cast,
You're born into this life paying,
for the sins of somebody else's past,
My daddy worked his whole life, for nothing but the pain,
Now he walks these empty rooms, looking for something to blame,
You inherit the sins, you inherit the flames,
