“I understand what you are saying. However, it is on the issue of health care where I feel most let down. I understand that we can't just jump into the best system for breaking the stranglehold of the insurance companies, covering everyone, and lowering cost - single payer. The public option is just a watered down version of that. But when you continue watering down something that was already watered down to start with then you end up with something as effective as homeopathic "medicine" compared to actual medicine. In other words - no better than the placebo effect.”
jmpurser replied on Nov 04, 2009 at 18:08:03
“For the record, why CAN'T we have the best system? Why did Obama kill real health care reform in order to sell the mythic "public option" and then stop supporting that after making deals with the insurance industry and big pharma?

“Don't expect the conspiracy buffs to be moved by reason and logic. They have a need for this to be bigger and more meaningful than a misfit with a gun. That is one of the reasons conspiracy books tend to overlook Oswald's previous attempt to assissinate retired General Walker.”

“Please, why are arguing about this. Consult the FBI tests. In fact consult any test ever done. The "jet effect" you refer to happens in very obscure cases that are much different than this one. What your eyes tell you when you see the Zapruder film is correct. The shot was from the grassy knoll. This is no longer a point of contention anywhere outside of the lunatic fringe. There are a lot of books that discuss this because it became a political issue some decades ago. Please learn a little about this before you dismiss the science that has accumulated around this event.”

“Arnray. Thank you. I have to forgive the buffs. I use to be one of them. It's just so hard to accept that JFK could be taken from us for basically meaningless reasons. To quote Civil War General James H. Wilson "One can't put down history as it really happened--people don't want it--it would shock them. People have formed their own ideas in regard to history, and they do not want them dismembered." For many, to accept Kennedy's death as an irrational random act performed by a maniac --"all sound and fury spoken by an idiot signifying nothing"-- is to force them to look into a black abyss that is so existentially terrifying that it threatens to blow their whole world apart. Bless all of you for caring about our great lost President and the damage his death did to our beloved country.”

“Nice to see a rare voice of reason and logic on this post. None of the myriad of big conspiracies hold water when examined with a critical eye. Are there unanswered questions? yes. Was the Warren Commision rushed and incomplete? yes. But it requires a great leap to conclude that therefore there was a massive conspiracy. Is there "evidence" of a conspiracy? yes. Just as there is "evidence" that expresident (man, I love the prefix 'ex') Bush was behind 9/11, that the moon landing was a hoax, and that O.J. was framed. I don't expect to convince the conspiracy minded. However, for a methodical, critical, logical and honest review of the assasination (and the assassin) using the best forensic evidence one should read Case Closed by Gerald Posner.”
Sagamore72 replied on Nov 01, 2009 at 11:32:30

They are challenging those facts and SOME of them put forth NUMEROUS other theories. “But isn't is strange how Bush shuttled the Bin Laden family out of the country so quickly and how he acted when it happened? And isn't it strange how that enabled them to turn it into a war against Saddam? And isn't it strange how Bush said right when he got into office: Figure out a way to go after Saddam? He had to defend his Daddy's honor and finish the job. And isn't it strange how they kept the entire country in fear to their will which was war and Wall Street. The very rich got really really wealthy; the middle class dumped in the toilet. Isn't that strange? At this point, it almost all seems planned to the benefit of the upper 1%. How sad.”
