“Conservative vision for America. No me more hard work as ... "that too many might drop out because of higher expectations".
I doubt that America became superpower by teaching its citizen to take the lazy way out.”
“And you find that (the Police being on the other side of the Property) acceptable?
Hummingbird2012 on Nov 13, 2013 at 13:23:04
“It's my understanding they split up to look for this woman. Do you really think the police can be everywhere at once? Do you think the Police are mystical, mind readers to know where they need to be all the time? Get real.”
“Had she been blue eyed and blond hair....Law Enforcement would have been there first. Anybody actually beleive that this family has betterPolice skills that the actual one?”
Sthernbull on Nov 12, 2013 at 12:49:43
“Prove that...and yes I do know families that have such skills.”
Hummingbird2012 on Nov 12, 2013 at 10:52:25
“Law enforcement WAS there - just on the other side of the property. Wow, what a racist!”
yoda1569 on Nov 12, 2013 at 10:07:49
“That's bullsh*t, and you know it! The only reason the police officers were second on the scene is because the person who called the tip in about where is woman could be called it into the family members, and not the police station! Then the family didn't call the police, and instead went to the abandoned house themselves. That would be like someone calling me, and reporting a stolen car, and I go and locate the car, then call the police and gripe about finding it before the police. I'm 100% confident that if the police would of gotten the call on the tip they would of been there in a heart beat! Quit trying to make this about race when clearly it isn't!!!!!!”
selena2v on Nov 12, 2013 at 10:05:45
“Why make race an issue? This is a happy ending to a tragic incident. You don't know the circumstances of how or why the police weren't there first. This story just shows that families always need to do their own detective work when trying to find a loved one no matter where you are from or what color you are. The parents of those blue eyed, blonde hair girls you are talking about weren't just sitting around waiting for the cops to find her. They did their own searches as well. The cops aren't going to hang pictures up all over the city...in any city for any color person...that is something the family has to do. And more witnesses are willing to talk to family members than to cops. It was just word on the street about a vacant house in a different city and the family went and checked it out and luckily that is where she was. This is a great ending. God Bless this family.”

“Ahhhh you might want to consider there is a reason police are not rocket scientist ,doctors and engineers. It is very obviouse the family had better skills then the police. They did find the victim, rescue her and kill the kidnapper. The police did not.
The only thing you can conclude is the family is more skillful then the police.
I rest my case”

“There it is, always have to make everything that happens about race don't ya? This is a great story of justice actually being served and you have to make it a racial issue. I'm sure the police were notified of the possible whereabouts of the woman and the family was told to wait for police to arrive but the family didn't listen and decided time was of the essence and feared time was running out so they took care of this sorry excuse of a man themselves. I applaud them for taking the law into there own hands. This was the best way to make sure this bum wont bother the woman or her son again. He got exactly what he deserves. JUSTICE!!”
ctwitch on Nov 12, 2013 at 09:56:46
“i don't believe that. I think the family had connections and word on the street that the cops would have never had. good for the family for doing what the cops couldn't do.”

“Yeah, they would have been there first. Then they would establish a "perimeter". Then sit back and wait for the SWAT team. Or they would wait for the robot or that fancy new armored vehicle they got from the government. Then the doughnuts and coffee would arrive. And by the time they busted down the doors that blue eyed blond would have bled to death.
That's how law enforcement/hostage situations work.”
9thSRWAlum on Nov 12, 2013 at 09:47:07
“Maybe they left this paragraph out of the story you read. Here...let me help you out.
"On Friday, as police and family members alike searched near Thomas' abandoned car, along with areas near his hometown, witnesses gave the family members a tip about a vacant house in a nearby field where the car was located."
It says: On Friday, as police and family members alike searched near Thomas' abandoned car, along with areas near his hometown, witnesses gave the family members a tip about a vacant house in a nearby field where the car was located.
That means that police and family members alike searched near Thomas' abandoned car, along with areas near his hometown and that witnesses gave the family members a tip about a vacant house in a nearby field where the car was located.
That should clear up that misconception for you.

“Geez, does that narrative play well anywhere except inside your head? Please don't say that, because it just isn't true. I know this from personal experience. I am a green eyed blonde and have been stalked before. Restraining orders did NOTHING to help me. I lived in a nightmare for months, until finally my stalker tried to break into my apartment after cutting my phone lines, I was huddled under the bathroom sink in a cupboard in fear for my life. He was scared away by a neighbor before he managed to get through my door, but was finally tracked down by a male friend who then called the cops and he got sent away, not for making my life a living hell but for drug possession. This can happen to any woman. There are literally entire television true crime series (as in more than one) based on scores the women this has happened to... violence against women is universal and when the perpetrator isn't stopped the cops don't just fail African American women, they fail us all.
“Please re-read the article before embarrassing yourself further.
Police were searching nearby AND in Thomas' hometown.”

“I was wondering why, if the cops felt she were in imminent danger, did they suspend the search for Thursday night...? High 5 to the family for delivering justice and saving a boy's mother, a sister, a daughter.”
MicheleO on Nov 12, 2013 at 09:02:50
“Not so. The police were looking very hard for her. It appears that the witness who tipped off the family didn't approach the police. Let me remind you that the police in NYC have spent an incredible amount of time searching for that missing Autistic boy and it did not matter to those great officers WHAT color he was.”
lpmko on Nov 12, 2013 at 09:02:46
“That is a stupid and pejorative comment. There are many "blonde with blue eyes" victims photos in police files of missing an/or dead. Quit fanning your flames...”
Bob MacLaughlin on Nov 12, 2013 at 09:01:20
“I'd challenge that statement, I think it's a mind-set of all police forces across the U.S. and Canada, they want to negotiate, talk the situation down, endless hours spent and wasted talking to these perps and sometimes the result is failure. Hooray for her relatives, kick the damn door in and if the bad guy objects put him down hard and permanently, the object is to save the young woman's life and the life of young boy.”
