Move Your Money: A New Year's Resolution

I've never and will never have my money in anything other than a community bank. They know me. They know my situation.
Big banks, don't know or care. It's not the teller or so-called bank manager... .it's the guy in the ivory tower that doesn't have a clue.”

“I agree with your statement overall. An extra brain and ears never hurts. I'm extremely lucky....I love my doctor! (He's not my husband, either..LO L) He's a DO and I have had back problems for the past 30 years, so he's in tune with my situation. He's even diagnosed something I wasn't aware of. Just a little ache, you know? Well.....t he rotater cuffs are bad...made me laugh. Last thing I ever thought of.
Should have made myself clearer on my initial comment. Like I said....I' m one of the really lucky ones. Just wish I had insurance so I could see him when I need to, but he always takes my calls. He's absolutely outstanding.”

“Well, schools have taken away geography courses, PE, music and a lot of sports, so I guess the next cut would have to be civics. It's bad enough that kids generally don't pay a lot of attention to civics and georgraphy, but not to have them is one more dumb-down for these kids.
There are some schools, however, that give a lot of credit to the kids who work on week-ends and after school to do community work. That's where it starts, not in the classroom.”

Too many expected every issue to be done on day 1. Life doesn't happen like that.
Getting this done is huge at any point in the President's first year.
Now, guess you're going to have to make a little effort to actually go to the site to see it in action.
Sorry about that.”

The unions will disappear in a few years and then another revolt will come by way of the workers to re-establish descent labor laws again. The big corporations will have no choice if they don't have workers.”

“One of the problems that would confront women if the day ever comes that abortion is again illegal is that those back alley abortions will thrive once again. Anyone else remember the tales of abortion by knitting needles? Unsterile "instruments" of any kind?
At the same time these "harlots" were having their back alley abortions, while some well-to-do white conservative "oh, no, not MY daughter" families were talking their doctors into claiming their child's abortions as D&Cs. That way, it was legal and their "good family name" preserved for all eternity!
The hypocrisy is amazing.”

“Fanned. So few people ever bring this up. That before abortion was legal, it was still essentially available to the wealthy families in society. Since rich families were always able to have access to an abortion, legalizing the procedure made it available for everyone. I just think this is part of the issue that is rarely discussed anymore when people debate abortion.”

While Senators Denounce Medicaid, The Uninsured Turn To Charity
Commented Nov 22, 2009 at 18:01:10 in Politics
“The 4 free clinics that came out of Keith Olberman's hour long "Special Comment" are amazing. The one two weeks ago in New Orleans showed, like this one in Little Rock, that there is a lot of desperation amongst those of us who are uninsurable, have lost our insurance or just plain can't afford it.
Lamar Alexander's comment showed his complete ignorance of the situation. "HIS family and friends wouldn't lower themselves to Medicaid", but I can say personally, that when you're making $680 a month, taking care of a disabled spouse, and denied Medicaid because you make too much money, you'd take anything that's offered to you just to see a doctor.
I guess Alexander's idea of health care for the masses is the nearest emergency room, where you can get a diagnosis and be released with no place else to go. Great news for someone diagnosed with cancer, kidney failure, heart failure, diabetes and a multitude of other illnesses that require regular treatment.
450,000 uninsured in Arkansas and their elected Congressmen/women want to keep it that way.”

“McCain hasn't had the big support in AZ for the past few years. I don't know of anything he's done for his own state except to let Kyl bring home all the pork for the state so he can say he didn't fight for any in the Senate.
I think his background of having the advantage of a Naval heritage, then winding up being the low man on the totum pole, is coming home to roost.
His so-called maverick style isn't cutting it any more. Not to mention his "humor" on the campaign trail with the "bomb, bomb, bomb-bomb Iran" wasn't found to be funny under the circumstances.
It has nothing to do with his age, but his mind set.”
