“This incident is ripe for a lawsuit. Did they also search men for tampons? Yet, they allowed guns which are 100x heavier than a tampon. ACLU, where are you? And thank you for all you're doing for rights to have an abortion.”

“I LOVE THAT! "Did they also search men for tampons?" HAH! This would be the lawsuit of the century. Imagine the Texas legislative security guards having to describe how they identified such dangerous items and why they took them away from women only. It would be fabulous publicity for highlighting the ridiculous lengths Texas went to in excluding and bottling up protests by women against interference with their CONSTITUTIONAL right to an abortion with a pro-life bill that mandates doctors choose the abortion method most likely to result in a LIVE BIRTH.
Yes, people, READ that bill. It is much more offensive, restrictive, and scary than the press is capturing.”
“These words are like manna from heaven. To stop bullying, you must name it, claim it, and stop it. Thank you for putting a name the the political criminal activity. This is the first stop. Let's now proclaim it to the country.”
What kind of protections has the White House imposed to ensure Immelt isn't using the council to shill for GE's expansive interests? The answer appears to be rather flimsy.
The charge from labor-friendly liberals and free-market conservatives has been the same: the appointment represents pure crony capitalism. The leaders of the largest U.S. multinationals are hardly the best suited to give advice on domestic job creation, the line goes, when they spent the last decade eliminating 2.9 million jobs at home and adding 2.4 million overseas. And in particular, the chief of GE, No. 6 on the Fortune 500, shouldn't be charged with heading that effort, considering the company's sprawling lobbying agenda in Washington.
The company spent more than $39 million on lobbying efforts last year alone, making it the third-biggest spender in the city, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. And its advocacy reaches into just about every conceivable policy debate, from the narrow -- the Commercial Advertisement Loudness Mitigation Act, the Iran Sanctions Enabling Act -- to the sweeping, including the fights over health care and financial reform and a multibillion-dollar battle with Pratt & Whitney over a military jet engine.

“You're looking through the wrong end of the telescope. NBC was seen as an apologist for Martin, but they pursued the facts regardless of whether they supported Martin or Zimmerman.
Even if Zimmerman got the worst end of the scuffle, there should have been no scuffle at all. Zimmerman reported to police a suspicious character and the police told him to sit tight and they would be right there. Just as they had told this paranoia case 50 times since last year.
Instead he got out of his car and followed the same 'suspicious character' that he'd been chasing for the last two years.
He was out for blood for a long time and he finally got it. Now he wants to play the victim. Put him away.”

“That's right. First the SAnford PD, then the prosecutor, the FBI, the grand jury and now ABC. They are all in on the conspiracy to prevent Zimmerman from going to trial!!!!! In fact, everyone who doesn't currently think Zimmerman should fry is clearly in on it. The FIX is in!!”

“"There's more to this part of the story than meets the eye. ABC news is owned by General Electric. 'Nuff said."
There definitely is more to the story.
ABC isn't owned by General Electric, and never has been:
"ABC is owned by The Walt Disney Company and is part of Disney-ABC Television Group, formerly ABC-TV."
On the other hand, NBC has been owned by General Electric since 1986, and now jointly by GE and Comcast.”

Oh, and Brodkorb's wife called police in July because he was so angry she was afraid of him. No charges filed. All ok. He apparently calmed down, right during the heat of summer while burning up the state with the shutdown and who knows what else in the back offices.”
