Senate Dems Close In On Reform: Details Of Health Care Bill Revealed
Commented Nov 18, 2009 at 21:45:18 in Politics
“I do understand these steps are seen by some huge victories as a thawing of the stranglehold held on this country. I am opposed to this bill however because it is a huge insurance company giveaway. Also, it has many bad provisions. We must never forget: Our Congress overall has sold us out and continues to do so everyday and the only people I (barely) trust are Kucinich, Sanders, Weiner, and a hand full of others. I do not believe this is a first good step, I do not believe messy is better than nothing (see Moyers) HOWEVER I have decided that to melt the stranglehold and begin the thawing might be a good thing.
I am progressive. The worst thing about this bill is that millions of working uninsured need-health-care-yesterday middle class Americans will pay the penalty because we are too broke already from old medical bills and interest rates. We ride the bus and can barely meet the mortgage.
There are millions like us. One day we will rise up out of the stupor. NEVER EVER FORGET how big the insurance companies and big farma are participating in this terrible bill. But again, I agree, it is good to start the THAW. I know mixed feelings are unpopular here as contrary to the CUTE DIVISIVENESS but you know what you can eat my rotten eggs.”

“You know I'm your fan and I agree with what you have said, but I'm willing to wait and see the Senate bill in its entirety before passing my judgment. The House bill stinks to high heaven, I'd NEVER support that piece of _crap, but maybe the Senate bill is closer IF the public option and exchange is available to ALL, not just the uninsured, and if a woman has access to a reasonable healthcare plan without having to purchase a separate policy for abortions, which is the most ridiculous thing i ever saw.
But, you're right, unless there is single payer, the insurance companies are the winners and that stinks to high heaven, too.”

“Demand that your government ramp up projects now! Call and tell your reps!
Last night we watched some amazing footage of people hired for the TVA and the WPA and how it brought huge employment projects where really skilled hard working people then trained other eager locals in many needed skills.
We don't want a handout!
We want WPA type projects in wind energy, green tech, education, arts!
Now!
Take some of that fat away from CEOs vacationing on the Isle of Ischia and start TVA-2!
