Robert Rubin: The Man at the Nexus of Big Business and Big Government
Commented Nov 12, 2009 at 10:34:55 in Business
“For a complete story of Capitalism run amoke, read Naomi Klein's "The Shock Doctrine". Rubin is a follower of Milton Friedman's Chicago School of Economics, which has destroyed South and Central America and Russia, for the benefit of a few. Rubin has personally profited handsomely from these collapses, including our recent domestic collapse. An excellent short presentation of the direct effect of these policies was the recent FRONTLINE program pitting Brookley Born against Robert Rubin, Alan Greenspan, Larry Summers and Timothy Geithner. Brookley and our country lost, the others won and two of them are still in charge of our broken system. They are robbing the middle, poor and elderly class blind. Its what they do, everywhere they go. Free Market Theory is nonsense. No other country in the world practices it. Our use of these policies has led directly to the dismantling of our manufacturing base. Finance, Insurance and Real Estate (FIRE) have commandeered our economy, displacing production and full employment with paper shuffling and other worldly profits for a few. Goldman-Sachs lies when he says his people are the most productive in the world. They are creative repetative violators of law who pay fines, never admit to any guilt and do it again. They control our Government through bribery.”

“Well said. I think this economic meltdown is done on purpose. While everyone is worried about the economy, they are accumulating wealth. What happens when you have astronomical wealth? You control, people, government and even the military. Consider fascism in the making. Something must be done before its too late.”

“We are governed by Corporate America. Politicians posing as our Representatives kowtow to their International Ponzi Scheme, based on labor arbitrage, sending the country into collapse so that a few hundred could pocket trillions. It worked exactly as planned, lost jobs, bailouts, deficits and everything.”

The Full Story of How Tim Geithner Secretly Bailed Out Wall Street at Your Expense
Commented Oct 28, 2009 at 14:45:14 in Business
“Goldman-Sachs and others knew they were selling junk securities. That is why they bought SWAPS from AIG, whose commisioned salemen didn't know, or didn't tell their top management they knew. When the securities tanked Bernanke and Geithner deliberately stuck it to taxpayers, just as Brookley Born predicted. Geithner, Greenspan, Rubin, and Summers all conspired to get rid of Born so they could move forward with risky dergulation, which permitted them reap enormous personal profits.

HuffPost's Arthur Delaney Discusses "Debtors' Revolts" Against Banks (VIDEO)

“Finance, Insurance & Real Estate (FIRE) 2% of all US Corporate profits in the fifties, and 40% today. They have shanghied our economy without ever making anything people need. All they do is run high speed trading programs and shuffle paper. Not just Lehman Bros, but the big four Wall Street Investment Banks would have bankrupted in their own greed but for the US worker, long abandoned by the Government.”

“Capitalism brought 80 hour work weeks in unsafe working conditions, including child labor to this country. It was only after a long hard fought struggle including police shooting union organizers in the streets that fair wages led to our sustained growth.”

“Police, the National Guard and a cornucopia of private gangs of thugs such as the Pinkerton detective agency. They didn't stop at the union organizers either; they were quite capable of shooting the regular workers and their families.”
stop the politics replied on Sep 21, 2009 at 15:35:12
“Capitalism did not bring 80 hours work weeks and child labor, greed did. Capitalism is a great theory, a free marketplace where all sides have power. However, in actuality, all sides do not have power and greed takes over. The opposite of capitalism, communism is also a great theory, however, like greed in capitalism, laziness takes over in communism and not all people work hard for the overall good. Because people are not perfect, neither pure capitalism or communism can work. There needs to be some involvement by the government to keep the system working. However, the government needs to understand that its action and inactions have consequences.”
Glenn Beck Has Lost over 50% of His Ad Dollars
Commented Sep 14, 2009 at 18:30:26 in Media
“Beck hits on important concepts and problems yet never ties anything together in a logical understandable manner. The result is an hour of gobbledegook. For example he mis-spells "Oligarchy" then ties it to another letter in the tirade he previously wrote on his blackboard, yet he never explains what and Oligarchy is, let alone who actually plays that role in our society or what it is that they have done that is so terrible.
There is plenty of material worthy of critical review and change or prosecution but don't expect Beck to make sense of any of it.”

“Good idea Larry,
But the stike shoudl have a goal. May I suggest getting rid of all the Wall Street Staffers running our Treasury and Federal Reserve. Bernanke, Geithner, Summers must go as well as the myriad of staff Goldman-Sachs, Merrill-Lynch, Morgan-Stanley, & Smith-Barney have planted within our Government.
We have brilliant independent economists that can be trusted to consider this nations welfare. Paul Craig Roberts, Michael Hudson, and James Galbraithe come to mind and there are others. All we have now is business and luncheon friends bailing eachother out.”

“On his first day of vacation, Obama played golf for five hours with a UBS Executive. This is the same UBS that wrote the "Securities Modernization Act", for which Phil Gramm was awarded a UBS Board Seat for ramming it Congress while chairman of the Sneta eFInace Committee. This is also the same UBS which has paid $775 million in fines to the Federal Government for refusing to divulge account information of 12,000 US Tax dodgers. This is the same UBS which received billions in TARP funds the same week they paid their fine.
Last week Central bankers met in Jackson Hole to celebrate Greenspan, the man more responsible for the current economic meltdown than even Bernanke, Geithner or Paulson, three major players.
If you think our Government let alone the 80% privatized Federal Reserve, is any longer of, by or for the people you are an ignorant fool. Human beings are merely fodder for Corporations. Unless you happen to have been born a Rockerfeller, Rothchild, et al. Our Founding Fathers are rolling in their graves.”

Why We Must Reform Our Criminal Justice System

“The criminal justice system does not respect the equal protection clause of our constitution. The rich and politically enfranchised enjoy less punishment than the poor dienfranchised. “Feinstein's husband Richard Blum has racked in millions of dollars from Perini, a civil infrastructure construction company, of which the billionaire investor wields a 75 percent voting share.
In April 2003, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers gave $500 million to Perini to provide services for Iraq's Central Command. A month earlier in March 2003, Perini was awarded $25 million to design and construct a facility to support the Afghan National Army near Kabul. And in March 2004, Perini was awarded a hefty contract worth up to $500 million for "electrical power distribution and transmission" in southern Iraq.
Feinstein, who sits on the Senate Appropriations Committee as well as the Select Committee on Intelligence, is reaping the benefits of her husband's investments. The Democratic royal family recently purchased a $16.5 million mansion in the flush Pacific Heights neighborhood of San Francisco. It's a disgusting display of war profiteering, and just like Cheney, the leading Democrat should be called out for her offense.”
