911 was a criminal act perpetrated by a group of internationals who wanted to bloody Americas nose for sticking said nose in their countries business. It was not the first such act. It will not be the last such act. We meddle.
The first such act was the Trade Center bombing of 2001. It differed only in scope from 911. The perpetrators were caught up in the world, handed over to law enforcement, tried and convicted. Instead of a truck bomb 4 planes were used. Instead of 4 men 16 men were involved. Instead of a rational president(Bill Clinton for all his flaws) there was George Bush. Instead of a Vice President giving wise council there was the even now rabid Dick Cheney, unhinged and willing to use volunteer soldiers as canon fodder to protect his own skin.

Of course this trial should be held in a criminal court ... it was a criminal act. I'm all in favor of tying 2000 to 2008 and snipping them out of the timeline like they weren't even there.”

It took companies merging stock in 1914(Clayton Act) and merging assets in 1950(Patman Robinson Act) and later 1976 Hart Scott Robino(merger guidelines) for congress to realize acquistion and mergers could be bad for capitalism.

Every 20 or thirty years congress wakes up to the fact that business left unchecked moves into a predatory mode that is bad for the public. This time its a rabid financial sector that needs regulation and a really sick health care insurance industry that needs the exemption from anti trust laws revokedand a public option as competition.

I think Professor Warren is on top of it. It's just a question of whether just a "public voice" is enough to get the job done.”
