“I continue to be VERY impressed with Rachel Maddow. The nearest to her in terms of getting at the answers and clearly "doing her homework" was the late (and much missed) Tim Russert.
And I continue to wonder not so much WHY she wasn't chosen to replace Tim....but WHEN it will happen. This is not meant as a slam against David Gregory... ....but if one could choose David or Rachel.... well....it HAS to be Rachel.
I think even if you disagree with her point of view, you cannot deny her class and mature handling of any situation. ....vs. the Chris Matthews "scream and interrupt" style seen by not only Matthews.. .but so many "talking heads."
Her interviews with Tom Ridge and some of the Right Wing obstructionists are but an example of her outstanding work....bu t her willingness to devote time and attention to "The Family", and the "C" Street mess ---- and her focus on the proposed "Kill The Gays" bill in Uganda.... while otherwise ignored by the media....w ill actually save innocent lives. She is a gem..... and MSNBC is almost as lucky to have her as are her viewers. It is really wonderful to see her progress day to day, and to know that every word she utters follows careful reading, investigating, and knowing not only the questions to ask----but in getting the answers. I feel very lucky to watch her debunk thev likes of Dick Armey and his pathetic shills.”

“I'm sorry about Tim Russert's early demise, and even sorrier about Gregory replacing him, but I never liked Russert's style and wouldn't compare Rachel to him at all. More often that not Russert resorted to "gotcha" journalism and, worse, frequently let glib responses pass without pursuit, especially from Bush administration officials. Rachel is superior in education, demeanor, persistence, and civility. If she chooses to remain in the broadcast political journalism arena, she could reach the top.”

“Admittedely, there is a thirst for revenge for what this miserable turncoat has done to the health care bill. He is, at best, a slimy slug. But Obama and Emmanuel are not without blame. Of all the things one might have wondered about Obama when he came upon the political stage-----it NEVER occured to me that SPINELESSNESS would be a concern! As a full throated supporter. ...in numerous ways...of the Obama campaign, I feel betrayed. Miserably betrayed. I could never have voted for McCain---N EVER!---bu t I sure feel I wasted my money---my time---and my VOTE....on a man who caves in so easily---- -especiall y to a cretin who actually campaigned against him in 08. “If that idiot had shot and killed my cat----I would now be doing life in prson for what I would have done to him....... even knowing that prison might be the result. I think it is time that the legal system realized that pets are more than mere property. They can be as important to us as the people in our lives..... .and deliberately harming a pet should have far more serious consequences than a monetary fine. It must often be particularly galling to judges---- especially those with beloved pets---whose hands are tied by archaic laws regarding our most trusted and loyal friends.”

“I am....and have always been 100% Democrat. The obstructionism displayed by the GOP since Obama took office is reprehensi ble----but so is the fact that many of us who so strongly supported and believed in Obama are now being forced to admit to ourselves that he may not be up to the job.
As president he is---or should be, a kind of shephard----keeping the Senate Dems together. He sure ain't getting that done----and now we have to accept that the dream of real health care reform is just that----a dream. Wall Street and the Big Banks have basically ignored him, and real reform in any area seems painfully remote.
I came along in the era of FDR----and for awhile I thought I'd bite the dust with a reasonable facsimilie. This AIN'T no FDR! I'll never vote republican, because I'd then have to chew off the arm that pulled the lever....b ut I'd better see something moving or I'll do like so many around me do on election day: STAY HOME!”
