“I think the media (Huff Post included) are keeping the spotlight on Sarah to goad the right into makeing her a spokesperson. I would put that in the careful what you wish for column. As a liberal I see a need and a purpose for a conservative voice in political affairs. I hate to see the right turn into a side show.”

“I'm 60 years old. If this passes and it is affordable, I will retire at 62. There, poof, I created a job. My employer pays $300 per WEEK for health insurance for my wife and I. Over the last 10 years health care insurance costs of risen at 3 times the inflation rate. At the same time hospitals all over the country have closed. Doctors and nurses are being asked to work for less money every year. I'm ready to try something else.”
Paul Volcker, Former Fed Chairman To Wall Street: "Wake Up, Gentlemen"

“It seems to me that the bankers are doing just fine. They now can lend money to people who can't pay it back and sell the loan to people who are protected by the government. They can borrow money from the Fed at less than 1% and lend it at 5% and more. Are they the ones that need to wake up, or is it the taxpayers who are footing the bill. They have created a perpetual money machine. That is innovation. We should be storming Washington and demanding a stop to this massive fraud. Instead we are more interested is Sarah Woods, or is it Tiger Palin, I forget.”

“We have been sold a bag of magic beans, and now the cow is overseas. What did you think the "service economy" was? The financial, health care, drug and military industries have taken over our economy. It is going to take sacrifice to regain some balance. It is going to cause many thousands of people pain. Is this country ready, willing and able to face the music. So far, it doesn't seem likely. Until we face the fact that this country needs a painfull transformation, we will continue to shuffle the deck chairs on the Titantic. For the sake of our grandchildren, let's hope we don't wait until the ship sinks. This country has been off course for many decades, and righting the ship will not be easy.”

OUR SOLDIERS WILL DIE fighting THEIR battles for THEM in THEIR 1,000s year Civil Wars.

“Human sexuality is a constant puzzle to me, but I'm pretty sure that we don't chose our preferences. Biological, social and family dynamics probably play a huge role. I take no pride in the fact that my sexual preferences are heterosexual, it isn't really a choice as to what stimulates me. The heart wants what the heart wants. Maybe someday we will discover that anything but bi-sexual is a mental disorder brought about by conditions experienced in our youth. That the natural way of things for primates (which we are) is to have sex with those of both genders. Doesn't work for me, but I may be damaged.”

“"Financial markets demand clarity and certainty" What is very clear is that I am certain that the financial sector in this country is full of fraudsters and self serving crooks. Good luck getting any of my hard earned savings until they clean house and get back to basics. Poor Bofa, none of thier drinking buddies are interested in the CEO job until they can talk serious money. You mean to tell me, with all the laid off bankers they can't find one guy who is willing to run the company for 1 or 2 million bucks? Oh please........Are the boards of these companies determinded to hire the same kind of genius that caused this meltdown. Someone who is willing to gamble the farm on instruments he doesn't understand, as long as he gets to skim the cream off the top?”

“The infatuation with Sarah Woods, or is it Tiger Palin, is understandable. I for one grow weary of hearing that we will not get comprehensive health care reform, and there will be no end to the Wars in the East, no sensible regulations for the financial sector,,,,on and on and on. It is refershing to read an article about Tiger's wife smashing his Suv's window with a tomatoe, or someone throwing a golf club at Sarah. Takes one's mind of the pressing issues of the day, don't you think? Best of all, these daliances require no effort on the part of the reader. We can smugley past judgement and move on with our day.”

“I respect your question and I wil respond. I don't hate her, but I strongly dislike her campaign speeches that were designed to tear people in this country apart. Her comments about "Real Americans". I don't agree with a lot of her points of view, does that make me not a "Real American"? She also said that some people "don't see America like you and I". Does that mean that my perception of this country is not valid? These types of inflamatory comments build wedges between people. United we stand, divided we fall.”

“Every effort to right this economy has been less than affective because you can't bake a cake without breaking a few eggs. We can't reform the financial system without hurting those people within the financial system that keep screwing it up for there own benifit. We can't reform health care without hurting the drug, financial and health insurance industry. They are the problem. We have all suffered so that the financial, drug and health insurance industries may prosper. It is time for them to suffer so that we may prosper. Nothing else will work. It will be painfull and it will take time, but friends that is the bitter medicine that cures this problem.”

GOP Would Require President, Cabinet, Staff To Enroll In Public Option
Commented Dec 07, 2009 at 09:42:22 in Politics
“I would go one better, all government employees must go on the public option, and the public option should be available to anyone who wants it. If the private sector is doing such a good job, they shouldn't mind at all. It's called choice, it's called competition. Right now my employer picks my health insurance, and I have no say whatsoever. The private sector had a chance to deliver good health care at a reasonable price, they have failed. Time to try something else.”
