“Seeing the Sound of Music is my all time favorite movie, I was very apprehensive about tuning in. Although I think Carrie is a wonderful person, taking on a role that Julie Andrews perfected was a huge task. I fast forwarded through the first segment and then after watching 30 seconds of Carrie singing the Sound of Music I turned it off. Live, modern, how ever you want to label it, it was a huge disappointment. I turned it off because 1. She's no Julie Andrews and 2. I didn't want to lose respect for her seeing she is a good singer and seems like a good all around person. I think NBC took a big risk and failed...there are too many people out there like myself who under no circumstances wanted to see this movie remade. It's not just Carrie's role as Maria, but it was the whole cast...Classics are meant to stay classics, not remade to glorify a network or a career!”

“Again, please read the other comments. This was not the movie it was the original play. Maybe you should leave your TV behind and go see a play.”
“All I can say is Shame on you for voting for someone you knew nothing about. The public ASSumed he was black and voted based on his color..sounds kind of familiar! Those that voted for this guy should have their voters registration cards revoked for this blunder!”
“I know people aren't going to agree with me, but I feel out of common courtesy of others she should have been covered up. I have no problem with women breastfeeding in public, but others may not be comfortable with it. Plus there are children around, some may have never been breastfed and will be confused by what's going on. Let me ask this...If your child's teacher was breastfeeding her child in the middle of class without a cover up how would that make you feel? Ni different then this woman doing it in a public place for children”

“So we should be teaching children that it is shameful to do something that is completely natural - like breastfeed an infant? Or that their body parts are something to be ashamed of?
No one is forcing anyone to stare at a breastfeeding mother. People can still look away if they find something offensive or not to their taste.
And frankly I'd rather my child watch a woman breastfeed an infant than watch a violent movie any day.”
RespectKids EnjoyFuture on Aug 9, 2013 at 00:44:48
“Why would you think there would be something wrong with that? If the kids don't know what breasts are for by the time they are school age, it's high time to learn!
What would you prefer, to keep breasts a taboo and the most natural nourishment anywhere, ever, a big secret?
Breast are breasts, and the purpose of them is to nourish. It's attitudes like yours that make them so controversial. Relax, seriously.”

“If more women would breastfeed in public then little children would think nothing of it - which is the way it should be. Personally I think someone sticking a plastic bottle with artificial baby milk in an infant's mouth is obscene but each to his own.”

“I'd wonder why her kid was in class.
If a child is confused by seeing a breastfeeding baby, explain it. It's that simple. It's not an "adult" topic; there's nothing to be ashamed of. They are perfectly capable of understanding, and if we teach a generation of kids to be comfortable with breastfeeding, we can FINALLY STOP HAVING THIS DISCUSSION.”

“I would applaud her! Breastfeeding is entirely natural and is NOT something to be ashamed of!!!”
KJDcosta on Aug 9, 2013 at 00:35:54
“Are you kidding? That'd be awesome. And it won't be a big deal to my kids, because 1)one's breastfeed and the other soon to be and 2)I don't body shame.”
“so let me get this straight...A young white man wants to start a White students Union and based on most of the comments on here people aren't happy about it....can I please remind you of a few Black groups: NAACP,Miss Black America, AABE, Association of Black Psychologists, NABHOOD, National Black Business Council, NBCC,NBNA,NCNW,UNCF..the list goes on and on....I just don't get it...Good for these kids, I hope they get formally recognized”
networker67 on Aug 1, 2013 at 21:48:40
“But let us explore your list a bit more.
NAACP - National Association for the Advancement of Colored People - You are aware their whites in the NAACP. And you would agree a need group looking out for our advancement in America, since after all said advancement was blocked for mighty long time.
Miss Black America - Since the Miss USA pageant focus on WHITE Beauty Standards SOLELY. Wouldn't you agree Black Beauty deserves its own to recognise itself?
AABE - A place for Blacks in the Engineering Disciplines to network.
ABP - A place for Blacks in Psychology to network and discuss relevant matters within the Profession as it goes to blacks.
See in each case you listed, there is a viable relevant need for the Black group. And the groups address matters relevant to Blacks only within the disciplines.
Next you'll say Black Doctors researching Sickle Cell Anemia is not needed.”
“Being in the insurance industry you would think that we would have a grasp on this..but NO...things are changing on a daily basis...If you have a PHD you might understand it, but to the general public it's a freaking nightmare!”

“I agree being in the insurance industry (WE) should know. What part of insurance are you speaking of? I worked for Aetna Life Ins Co for 17 years and you better bet your butt you better know, if you don't it's best you ask. Another thing I just thought of there are positions in the insurance industry that do not call for you to know anything about insurace. Example: like filing, opening the mail, making sure the right dept gets the right mail etc. It was people like myself who better know how to pay a claim.”
Kristnoplis on Jul 22, 2013 at 17:12:39
“The PHD's don't even understand it because it's so massive.”
“Amber to me got way too much credit these last few weeks. Although she had some special moments I feel out of the final 4 she is the most pitchy.. Candice and Kree should be final 2. Too close to call who would win between the two of them. They are the 2 that have been consistent this whole season and deserve to be top 2”
“if you don't work at your marriage, you get divorced...marriage is not always a bowl of cherries and if worked on properly can be a beautiful thing...Ben and Jen seem like what they work on is working...Good for them!”

“yea but you dont need to broadcast your trouble to the world..what a recipe for a separation”
“DO you ever watch the news? it is filled with black neighborhoods being shot up by black men...99% of the time with an illegal gun...it happens everyday down here.....why should the rights be taken away from the law abiding citizens while the thugs are getting their guns illegally? Compare the daily random shootings in Chicago and S Fla to the amount of "adolescent Caucasian" killing sprees and they pale in comparison,....If you read the facts, all the "adolescent Caucasian's" were all on some kind of prescription for mental issues...so what really is the problem here?”
