Jon Voight: Obama is "This False Prophet"

“Jon Voight needs to find a way out of his Midnight Cowboy role and back into reality. The distortion of hate and anger is apparent on his face.”

“How is that so? He is an actor so how can you tell? What evidence do you have to disprove Voight's charges other than to look at the actor's face? If that is the way you are determining who is lying to you then how do you know that Obama is not a better actor than Jon Voight?”

“They should be voting for what's good for the country, not just to cast advantage to the privileged class. The only thing which makes sense about the Limpublicans in the last almost 20 years is that they want to preserve the advantages of their wealth by preventing the rest of us from competing with them.”

“This and that, I think we're going to have to be more aggressive ourselves. I mean this Democrats in Control thing has gone on long enough, and Cheney's remarks about "reading terrorists their Miranda Rights" , and etc. provide ample grist. We need to outshout the drums. Spend a few hours today.”

“There are a couple of phrases being bantered about. One is decrying what is seen as "blame America'.. They're inserting the word America where we feel the blame is W's. That needs to be chewed up a bit. The other is the Chicken Hawk's claim that we are demanding that Miranda rights be read to terrorists. This in the context of "every once in a while we just have to send the military in to kick some butt", and "smiley faces won't work". I think the response to that refers to the Chinese Muslims who were sold to our military by bounty hunters and are admittedly not guilty of anything. They are crying that Obama wants to put Alcaida and etc trained terrorists out in the hoods. We need to take the offensive, and I'm so sick I'm about to collapse. Sic'em!”

“Orrect. That's what they mean when they say "the people". The rest of us are merely commodity. Unless and until they grasp that their successes (easier to call them that) could not occur but for the context our society provides, they will never get it. It's time we give it to them for a change.”

“In order for this not to take up time, focus and etc., this has to be accomplished through the office of an independent prosecutor. If Obama does not pursue it, and he may well not for political purposes I can understand and accept, it becomes incumbent on one or both of the House and Senate Judiciary committees to pursue it. It must be pursued quickly, as governmental credibility and accountability is at stake. This is not a case of letting sleeping dogs lie. It's a case of the massive betrayal of public trust and must be set out for history and the public to grasp.”
How to Come Down From Euphoria
Commented Nov 06, 2008 at 21:28:40 in Politics
“How to come down from euphoria? Easy. Think of all the folks in Georgia who had their voting rights stolen, typically, in the name of preventing voter fraud. Think of a guy named Saxby representing those people. That'll chill you down a bit.”

As far as McCain winning goes, the prospects, but for The Possibility, seem better than they were 4 years ago and we've lived through the initial impact of the wreck.
I voted early yesterday. The place was jammed with Obama voters, and I live in Arizona. Most were hispanic, and most of them seemed to be first time voters. I hope they also vote often and that at least one of them was "illegal", just to keep the racists and xenophobes in their constant pain. They deserve it.”

I told my husband that if the election is stolen, I would go out and riot and I am a very peaceful person - but there is no way that McCain can win with all of the enthusiam that we saw today at the polling place.
P.S - "illegals" are not allowed to vote and I hope they don't because then the Democrats will be accused of cheating and that is the last excuse we need to give the Republicans.

“Sarah Palin's just another example of a sanctimonious (but compassionate) conservative. Nothing of any meaning exists beyond their own experience. It is total, and explains why they cannot grasp ideas such as democracy, and the common good. The unifying concept of society to them is the non-sequitor that if each seeks their individual interests in a zero-sum world, it will magically fit together.”

“Did you notice that Sarah Palin never stopped smiling during Senator Biden's remembrance of the lost of his 1st wife and daughter? The man was tearing up! A normal person would have shown at least a second of compassion. Not the Governor. She was smiling and smirking. I tell you the woman is evil. John McCain did America a disservice with her pick. Based on the way she and McCain are enticing their crowds to exhibit hatred and division it is evident that one can be clueless and evil at the same time.”

Why the Financial Meltdown Reflects the Fundamental Failure of the Bush-McCain Economic Philosophy

“Right. There's been a lot of gas this morning about the "inevitable consequences of FDR programs" but the implication seems to place the emphasis on the wrong syllable. Unfettered free enterprise can be abused, and has been. The economic institutionalization requires amendment providing for accountability and regulation. It should also reprioritize certain elements of value so that the value of preferred items are treated as creating assets rather than costs. Nust they be carried forward on the books as liability just because Alexander Hamilton invented double entry bookkeeping?. Many public or commonwealth investments should not be considered costs, minuses or liabilities from the get go. Homes, fire departments, the best in schools and healthcare, scientific research, etc are inherently NOT zero sum items and surely we can find a better way to put a value on them from their very beginning.”

“Hey truthx2, I hate to be the one to tell you this, but they ain't acting. They believe deep in their hearts that it's a game show. They say that child abuse is sex. The pretty young blonde partisan who affirmed that by pronouncing the ad "factually correct" needs to have her feet held to the fire by someone other than Oprah. Teaching kids about sex before they can read --- indeed.
This need not be done in a rage, as some are advocating. It should evoke rage.”

Enough!: Why Obama Should Release His Righteous Rage

“Rage is mis-directed, almost by definition. I certainly agree that the wingnuts' braying has surpassed any regard for truth, and I am also sympathetic for those who find it so utterly offensive as to choke the words in a civil throat. It thus seems left to the satirists to explain the details of our disgust, unfortunately.
Let Obama flesh out his plans for change, instead of tied to the resmuglicans game. They set up a target, then use the response to bootstrap their pettiness into the respectability of controversy. This is not to totally exclude "showing his rage", just not let's us make that a comparable element of his campaign for "change".
It's a crying shame that fauxnews has made it politically incorrect to inculcate one's views or evaluation of mere facts, but that's why satyrists are alone left to explain a larger significance than a pc byte. That and one of our webmedia takes commentators off the air in favor of "anchors".
I say take them at face value -- that they think child molestation is sex, etc., Sarah is a stand in for Hillary, etc. That's what they think! Explain that without being a satirist.”

“How about putting some teeth into this story by naming those actual persons under investigation and reporting their backgrounds, how they got their jobs etc. This will shed much more light on things than mere name-calling. The media didn't withhold Michael Vick's name, and be entering government employment, these individuals shed some of the rights of privacy which should obtain to someone employed by Wal-Mart, etc.”

“Hi Tiger. Reality itself is a subjective perceptiion.
Aside from the tragedy avoided by the W factors, and not with any glee, I think the opportunity should be taken to address the Mississippi and it's delta as a whole, not to 'control' it, but to respect it. Perhaps parts of New Orleans can be preserved for historical purposes, but most of it should be dedicated to the river and the delta. I don't know enough about the whole picture to figure out where the port should be, or where the new homes for people should be constructed, but I expect it will take a political artifice similar to the New York port Authority to get Louisiana and Mississippi on the same page. One thing I'm sure of is that this rebuilding is necessary, should be governmentally controlled as to infra-structure broadly defined, is our duty, and of such greater importance than conducting war in Iraq as to be incomparable. Lets just do it right, and thank heaven it won't be in bushies' hands.”

We all want our hobby horse at the top of the list, waving the loudest flags.
