“It feels good to admit it doesn't it. All sarcasm aside though, the American people fully understand that no one political party or politician can make the world all "rainbows and unicorns" but the Republican party has done an inordinate amount of obstructing in the last few months to prevent a man named Barack Obama from having any success as President. The GOP does not care what price the country has to pay in order for them to bring this man down and they are going to stop at nothing to get the job done. That should worry Americans just a little.”

“You are right. I firmly believe there are many powerful, rich, Republican business owners out there who are delaying putting Americans back to work because they want the country to suffer under the Obama administration. When they are back in power, they will put the country back to work. If we as a country can find a way to stand up to them and thwart them, it will be one of the greatest achievements in our history.”

Commented Dec 30, 2009 at 12:46:10 in Politics

“The Republicans have a serious problem with protecting America against terror attacks, namely 9/11. They want to pretend and have actually said, they inherited 9/11 when the whole country knows who was in power when that happened. The GOP plans to sing this same old song every time something like this is reported. President Obama is acutely aware of the dangers that America faces but he just like his predecessors can only do so much. When someone wants to harm innocent people for ideological reasons, they will do so. There is little that can be done to prevent any and all acts of this nature and the Republican party knows that all too well. They simply want to win future elections and they will say anything and take gross advantage of any situation out there in order to scare the public into voting them back into office. I sincerely hope the American people have better sense than that.”

snappypants replied on Dec 30, 2009 at 12:58:50

The policies in place during the clinton administration had nothing to do with 9/11 but
the policies in place during the bush administration had everything to do with the Christmas

“I care deeply about my country. I have been around for a long time and I still have hope for the future. I will not give up. I have to admit, this is taking a toll on me but I will not give up as long as I am watching the Democrats working as hard as they are with not one ounce of help from the Republican party. I wish there was some way to get progressives to focus just a little of their anger on that. This health care reform bill could have been incredible if the GOP had not vowed to make it President Obama's "Waterloo.' I have to go, I have reached the end of my rope for today.”

Roosevelt wanted a second Bill of Rights to cover things like healthcare for all BECAUSE it wasn't in the Constitution.

So unless I'm wrong - please do enlighten me as to the specific Amendment that changed things since then. I simply can't wait to hear exactly where the document now allows the Gov't to involve itself in HC - much less force free citizens to purchase insurance simply to remain legal.

I'll be waiting.....”

“You didn't read the link, did you? No one is talking about violating the Constitution. I'm talking about Corporatism. Obama has convinced you he stood up to the insurance industry (it's right there in his quote) when in reality he did everything possible to keep their money in the Dem party, while extracting minimal concessions from them. In the end it's business as usual, not "change we can believe in." Read the article I linked to or watch this interview:
