“Notice Ryan didn't offer to reduce some of the benefits Congress gets, or reduce salaries, or reeduct the amount of time for paid holidays and vacation time or reduce what they receive for their pensions.
“Thank God you have a dictionary because without one, you would be even more boring. You need to lighten up, buster. I doubt very much that you have had your car and house egged because if you didn't get if off IMMEDIATELY it would be very difficult to do with a sponge, and the finish on your car would be ruined.
As far as carrying a weapon on a daily basis, I guess you need to feed your ego, unless you're in law enforcement.
Now go pick on someone else and disect their every word.”
“Getting "crazed" over your car getting egged is irrational.
Crazed: 1.wildly insane or excited.
"a crazed killer"
synonyms: mad, insane, psychotic, out of one's mind, deranged, demented, certifiable, psychopathic, lunatic; So I am VERY glad you don't have a gun.”
“Let's leave your comment regarding "you people" out of the mainstream of this article. Please don't make it ethnic as you have done. We all use that term and it is simply another way of making a group of human beings plural.
Can we leave it at that???”

“As I said, I was being facetious. No need to get worked up about it.”
“I will admit that Mr. Noble's behavior was over the top when he came out and was shooting at the car, killing that teenage gal. He was livid and I can't blame him for that, because I, too, would probably be crazed (but I don't have a gun and wouldn't run outside with one, if I did).
But let's go a step further. Where are the parents of these kids who do all this vandalism? Were these kids ever actually parented and taught what's "good clean fun" and what isn't?”
Verchiel on Feb 18, 2014 at 17:29:43
“Plenty of kids with good parents have egged and TP-ed things. Unless you have specific knowledge of misdeeds on the parents part, it's beyond repugnant to call them into question when the responsibility here starts and ends with the shooter.”

“I have had my car and home egged, carry a handgun daily, and never felt "crazed". I stretched out the garden hose and got a bucket and sponge.”

You seem to think that when these children are 16, she at 73 will be a model mother at that age? More like a grandmother, me thinks, who love to see their grandchildren come and happy to see them go after a few hours. In addition, I'd be very surprised if other kids don't make fun of them because their mother is so old.
I really feel for those two. They have a rought road ahead of them.”

“Maybe you should get out and see the world more.
I have a friend who's parents were late 40s early 50s when he was born. His father is a professor, his mother a teacher. They are now in their late 80s, early 90s and still working, active, and more energetic grandparents than I see some 20 year olds as parents.
Nobody ever made fun of him for having older parents. He nor his children have suffered from having older parents and grandparents. They are fun, well respected, educated, engaging, interesting, healthy, and financially sound.

“Many children are raised by their grandparents but usually, it isn't by design. Usually it's because of a tragedy, i.e., the death of the parents, parents who are drug users, parents who have abandoned their children, etc. I don't know of a single case where the grandparents have CHOSEN to raise their grandchildren and the parents have approved.
Your question is not realistic. The St. James woman is selfish and very self-centered. She is not taking into consideration the future of those kids. Period!
All she is thinking about is herself.”

“I just love it when people decide to condemn someone else just because they don't agree with them, especially when they don't know the whole story, as in this case. (read sarcasm)”

“Disgusting! I guess she never gave a thought to the fact that she would probably die when those kids were teenagers. In addition, as those kids get older, they will be embarrassed that their mother is so old. And no father in the picture??? Oh, great -- just great!”

“And how many children are raised by their grandparents? Yes, there's something disgusting on this thread but it most definitely is not Ms. St. James!”

“Do you feel the same way about men that have children in their 50s and 60s?”
Blame the beetle -- sure. But no one can deny the fact that global warming is REAL and will lead to the demise to many things. The domino effect will be devasting!”

“More than half the country denies it Bonnie. We have the spruce bud worm here in Maine killing off trees. How long before thats blamed on global warming as well? When everything under the sun is blamed on global warming (no pun intended) it cheapens your cause. Fake data and those emails didn't help you as well.”
“I mentioned Goebbel because he was one of the top leaders in the Nazi regime and the family is still reaping the benefits of that company. Of course many organizations and governments were part of the total picture.
I am able to make a decision to buy or not buy a BMW, but what am I supposed to do about the government part? I am a U.S. citizen so what I am supposed to do -- not pay taxes or wear an A-Frame sign over my shoulders and march in front of the White House 24/7???”
“In the spirit of bringing up items of interest regarding various formidable Nazis, let me mention this:
The BMW has always been my auto maker for longer than I can remember. Not too long ago I was made aware that the Goebbel family still has a whopping interest in that factory. Due to my extreme distaste ((to put it mildly) of anything related to the Nazis, you could not even give me a BMW any longer.
Armed with that knowledge to those who also were not aware of this relationship, I have to assume that many people would feel the same way and place BMW autos on their 'do not buy' list.
Sorry, but even after all these years, this is how I feel.”

“I hope u are also against the NASA then because this is the organisation that took Nazis as employees after the war. Not to forget that the US government was by that time was fully aware what the Nazi Regime did. So not buying a BMW makes no sense if u not at the same time see the acting of the US government and condemn this as well.”

“Atrocity-wise, German Multinational Siemens has them all beat.
“That is a good point, Bonnie B. Another example of this is the Krupp Steel Corporation, the largest family-owned and one of the richest corporations in the world. During WWl the company built 84 Uboats. During WWII, they made tiger tanks for the Nazi Government using slave labor. The Krupp who headed the company during the war was sentenced as a war criminal to 12 years at the Nerumberg Trials. In 1951 he was released & returned to run the company. As the War ended, many of the family moved to Venezuela and then emmigrated to the U.S. After the War, the corporation was fined $1 billion dollars for using slave labor. That $1billion was probably minuscule to such a giant corporation. We should remember those dead when we look at Krupp appliances.”

“Sure, and IBM provided the computing machines (mechanical) that kept track of the arrested in Germany. And there were many other corporations and politicians that were in bed with the Nazis. I believe in responsibility for ones actions, but not in original sin.”
You are so right. Some of the comments, which profess to be funny or clever, are as outrageous as the ad. I agree with you that racism is alive and well in this country. I don' know how old you are but unfortunately, neither of us will be alive to see an end to it.”

“Thanks for your reply, bonnieb333. I really belief, that people who have not traveled and experienced other cultures, still think of themselves as superior to others. I have lived in 7 different countries, and there is only one thing for sure - people are people, either good or bad. It has nothing to do with their heritage or color, it has to do with being human.”
