I dare say zero. If you go back and google these guys, you will see that everyone of them hope that what they say today will be right. Tomorrow, meh.

“So predictable. I expected nothing less from Cornel West. He and Tavis Smiley seem to think they have the black community cornered. When they open their mouths, we should only listen to them.

Just wait, February will soon roll around. They will gather again to tell us about all the problems that's devastating black America during Smiley's State of the Black Union party. But after many, many years, we will get not one solution to a problem they've pinpointed and solved for the black community.

But they will have their books, I bet, ready for the audience to buy, complete with autographs. What a sham.

How many black so called leaders did you hear scream bloody murder about the young honor student that was killed by other blacks in Chicago. I must have missed it because I did not see the wall to wall coverage on television callling for marches across the country.

Had the young black man been murdered by a white boy or a white policeman, Lord have mercy. Black America and its intellegensia would have been all over the news.

Until I see these same people stop trying to get rich off the very same black people they scream about, they don't have anything to say to me.

And one more thing, these guys seem to think that president Obama is the son of an African man, and so he really don't count, just like the other folks on the otherside discount his white mother.”

“Keep on denying the facts. In this country today, children are being left behind, waaaay behind. The third countries that people like to laugh about are all increasing their childrens' knowledge. In this country, some people fight to limit it.

And Howard Kurtz does a very poor job of explaining for him and his peers. They failed miserably. They stenographed the lies, and now would have us believe differently.

Fo all the talk about people like Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann, who genuinely tried to tell the public that his was a lie, how many reporters from NBC, ABC, CBS, Washington Post, New York Times, actually called the disseminators of this news and confronted them with the facts. How many of them studied the bill and came with facts like Stewart did on his show the other night?

I will apologize if I missed any one of them actually doing that. But I am not holding my breath.

There are very few fighters in the media that will stand on principle. Lots of the others are in it to get a book deal at some point. This is my point view. But you don't have to believe me. Let Google be your friend, you will see quite a number of our erstwhile media personalities have written books.

On issues as important as Iraq, health care and the economy, they have failed us time and again, and each time they come up with some silly excuse.

“Here is my take on this thing: Grassley lied, plain and simple. There's no other way to describe what he did. And sadly, this man sits on a committee that's debating language to go into the bill. It is the same committee that is holding the health care debate hostage, the same one that caused the bill not to be acted upon until after the August recess.

Now he tries to blame the White House for sending out mixed messages. That's another lie. He lied. someone needs to ask him if he lied when they interview him, cause that's what he did. He lied!!

What does he teach his grandchildren about lying? That it is OK, as long as it helps you deny others health care that you are enjoying as a Senator? Shame on Mr. Grassley.”

“Where has he been all summer? Who cares about what John McCain has to say? I certainly don't. He nor any of his other friends in the Republican leadership has yet to denounce the ugliness that's coming from their side directed at this president.

We can differ on politics, but when you have people on your side using hate speech, and no one stands up to denounce it, anything else you say is noise to me.

I don't care to listen to anything John McCain or any of the other Republicans have to say right now. To my mind they all condone the ugliness that is simmering in this country. Read Frank Rich's article today, if you havent.

“Yes, he does! Stewart did in a few minutes what the media could not do in days. The more I think about it, the more I am inclined to wonder if the media enjoyed this mis-information being spread.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but I have yet to see where any one of the three network news anchors ever spoke up to say, in fact, that the so-called "death panel" meme was just plain wrong. That it did nt exist in the bill.

Katie Couric, in fact, was the only one I saw address the issue about bringing guns to the protests.

But aside from the likes of Rachel Maddow, Keith Olbermann and bloggers, I have yet to see others in the media call this outright lie a lie. It took Jon Stewart to do it. Those people that call themselves disseminator of the "serious" news ought to be ashamed of themselves today.

No one is asking for these media personalities to give up what they pass as objectivity in the news business these days. Lord knows in many instances they are beholden to their corporate masters, but my God, where is the principle to call a lie a lie.

And you know what? Stewart did not have to raise his voice, get rude or disprespectful. He simply did his homework and came prepared to debunk this woman's lies.

That is the shame.”

Stewart came with facts, she came with hyperbole, and lots of it. Is it just me or is that the same binder she lugs around from the Clinton days, the Stimulus, and Kennedy bill?

Ask her to point to a single fact, she couldn't. Uhmm.

“Jon Stewart is a comedian. He does what our media has failed time and again to do. The media in this country allowed a lie about death panels in the health care bill to fester. Instead of dismissing the death panel mess as a farce, the media treated it as a point of fact that they expected the Administration to go out and defend.

When a respectable Senator stands up in front of his constituents and speak about something that is totally not in the bill, how could he not be called out on it? Even when he seemed to have back-tracked his statement, it was just a wimper.

It had to take Stewart, a comedian to show us all that this woman was spreading information that is totally not helpful to the debate in any form or shape. She couldn't even find the page on which she claimed there were these statements that were "dangerous" for the passage of this bill.

What a shame. Any wonder people look at Stewart as the most trusted newsman in the country.

What have we come to? Walter Cronkite must be rolling around in his grave. Go figure.”

“OK, who really cares? Why can't we let this woman and her family be for a few minutes. Michelle Obama is comfortable in her skin. And besides, this is an accomplished woman. I am so tired of people trying to relegate her to some kind of fashion plate.

And why in the world is this a story?”
