Mel Martinez and the Last Nail in the Republican Diversity Coffin

“One problem with the accuracy of the article. Mel Martinez announced a while ago that he would not be seeking reelection, so the timing is off a little.
Still, I'm sure he saw the writing on the wall.”

“When Martinez announced he was not running in 2010, he did state that he would finish his term. He's a typical GnOPer, do as I say not as I do.”

The Inconvenient Truths (For Both Sides) About Late Term Abortions
Commented Jun 03, 2009 at 13:11:43 in Living
“Isn't the law in Kansas- where Dr Tiller had his practice- that in order to do the procedure legally, two doctors have to certify that continuing the pregnancy would cause substantial and irreversible impairment of the mother's major bodily function(s)?
That legal hurdle would suggest that the 2 or 3 doctors who perform this procedure would have more than 2% of their patients coming in because a fetal problem was diagnosed late in pregnancy.”

---------
Yes, AND in addition to this, neither of the doctors who certify the need for a late term abortion can have any financial interest.”

Here's Why the Right Wing Dominates Talk Radio Today
Commented May 22, 2009 at 00:36:37 in Media
“"Liberal voices have been take off the air, as in Miami where Fox replaced the liberal station with another sports show."
When WINZ initially changed from a sports talker to a progressive talker in '04, it's ratings almost tripled, to the point where it was beating all the sports stations, and was second only to its sister Clearchannel station WIOD- a conservative talk station. At the time they announced their return t sports, they were still beating all the sports station AND conservative talker WFTL. Now, their ratings are halved.
No market for progressive talk?”

“I do so with the firm intention -- once I'm sworn in as president -- to have my Attorney General conduct a comprehensive review of all our surveillance programs, and to make further recommendations on any steps needed to preserve civil liberties and to prevent executive branch abuse in the future.

Realize guys that this bill only protects telecoms from Civil Suits, which likely wouldn't have worked anyway (Bush Co. would've likely used the, "National Security" line to block evidence of spying, thus killing any civil case).
Obama has already committed before that he would appoint an AG that would conduct investigations of Bush and Co., and BUSH is the one we really want.
Plus he has already said he would make the effort to get the immunity pulled from the bill anyway, so let's not rush to burn the man a the stake.”

“There's nothing that could be better for Obama than for it to be Obama vs. random Republican. There wouldn't be enough time for any republican (other than Huckabee and Romney) at this point to define himself, and each one is very deeply flawed.
