“Forty-four THOUSAND years?????? YIKES!!!!!!!!!! And how many years has this planet been in existence again? What percentage of that number is 44,000?
Is it presumptuous of humans to assume that there is some right to a climate that is hospitable to our existence?
Is it outrageously presumptous and arrogant of humans to believe that we (mere flyspecks in the vast greater scheme of things) have the power and the ability to alter the climate as one dials up and down the Honywell thermostat on their wall? (By Jove, I believe we need to make it a few degrees Centigrade cooler. So we'll reduce our carbon footprint and the temp will eventually drop accordingly.)”

“When you hear about smog problems in cities, do you stamp your feet about it being "outrageously presumptuous" for humans to think we can modify the very air we breathe, as if we were some sort of gods? If not, then what is your problem with believing in CO2 increase? It's not like you can't measure CO2 in the air. Seems like you just need education in science principles – is that fair?”

“No offence, but I will take the word of world scientists over a capital letter and punctuation abuser.”
“"Democrats opted for defend over defund, (with Obama declaring he would not negotiate over his signature law), the budget or the debt while Republicans were holding hostages"
Our esteemed President intends for the health care law to be his legacy- his claim to fame. Is he about to negotiate it away? Don't think so...
Big Medicine would no more stand for dilution of his law than Big Pharma would have stood by while Medicare Part D was diluted if that wasw attempted.
The Medical Industrial Complex lobbied long and hard for these windfalls. Millions upon millions of guaranteed paying customers and little to no cost controls imposed upon them.
Hoowee what a payday for them.”

“WEll this is what you get when single payer isn't an option. Market based insurance. And when government officials are so easily bought with 123k max donation per person. It makes it easy for them to get their way. If you want that to change. www.movetoamend.org”
“And there we have it. The edvil is alwats in the details and the definitions. Define 'affordable'. And affordable to whom? One thing is for certain. Big Medicine, the 'provider' oligopolies and monopolies(Helath Systems and Networks) will get paid and paid handsomely as they always do. We will see no belt tightening; no economizing. The construction cranes will still be reaching for the sky; nothing less than the very best that money can buy will do. They must practice in the plushest and most elaborate facilities available. And we will all foot the bills for this excess to varying degrees as individuals and/or taxpayers.
Just as there is no free lunch, there is no free healthcare- not even when the government is subsidizing it. (I amend that- When I was my Mom's caregiver, invariably there would be a drug rep in her Doctor's office "Ask Dr._ _ _ _ what she'd like me to bring her back for lunch. Oh, and mention to her that I have some tickets to _ _ _ _, if she'd be interested.. And you guys mark down what you'd like for lunch too." Ah, the memories. .”
“Actually, I see it it as Phase 2 of the government's program to keep the medical/industrial complex fat and happy. Medicare Part D was a tremendous windfall for Big Pharma. This scheme assures parity for the rest of the medical industry”
“[Visibly irritated, Kerry responded: "I volunteered to fight for my country, and that wasn't a cautious thing to do when I did it." Kerry is a decorated Vietnam veteran, commanding a Navy swift boat.]
But Swifty, I seem to recall that, following your distinguished service to your country, you spoke out *against* the Viet Nam war. By 2004, you had flip-flopped again as evidenced by your 'reporting for doody' at the 2004 DNC.”

“There is nothing in Kerry's background to cause us to trust him, He is a weasel!”

“Kerry has done far more for this country than you have.”

“Not too many guys got 3 purple hearts and lived to tell about it. I passed up 2 because I didn't want to die for 1. Scratches don't merit one, just sayin'.”
“"We have enemies around the world that need to understand that we're not going to tolerate this type of behavior."
Really, Mr. Boner? Sober up and get real.
The so-called 'rebels' are tied in with al Qaeda. al Qaeda is our enemy, aren't they?
So why are we backing them up? Fools.
All American troops out of the ME. Now!”

“people in the know have been saying for years that alqaeda is nothing more than a scapegoat for the US military industrial complex. everyone said it was conspiracy, even though it's a matter of documented fact that the taliban and alqaeda were funded by the CIA to fight the serbians in the 70's, nobody would listen. now it's finally coming out into the mainstream that US does in fact support these "terrorist" organizations and supply them with weapons when it's convenient for them to do so.
i hope people will finally wake up and see what's going on for once. and sadly, even though it's right in front of them, i doubt many will acknowledge what's going on still.”
“Just look at the aftermath in Iraq since their strong armed dictator is gone. These barbarians cannot behave themselves without one. It is only a matter of time before the intersectarian infighting and bloodshed gets underway.”

“My brother works for the government and made several trips to Iraq. After about his second or third he said, "You know, I think it might take a strong armed dictator to keep these knuckleheads in line".”
This is why I love America. United we stand, divided we fall. If someone threatened America, I have no doubt that all Americans would stand up and defend our glorious country based on Freedom. I know this song is about two lovers, yet it works for America too in my opinion. Other countries are great too, dont get me wrong, but im mighty proud to be an American.”
How are ya, sunshine?
Just checking back in, momentarily.... before I get back to business.
Making sure the crossfire between 'sides' is still underway as I expected it be would.... crossfire between the 'Hatfields' and 'Mc Coys'.
Hopefully it will end.... and people will realize that there really isn't two 'sides' at all----- and hopefully BEFORE it results in an all- out real civil war...... people will realize they've just been taking the bait.... and that we all actually have FAR! more in common with one another than differences.
