A Funny Thing Happened on My Way to Talk About Afghanistan

Commented Oct 15, 2009 at 23:37:44 in Media

“This was a contrived event by this family. The news media (cable news) has descended to the abyss.
There was no confirmation of the facts of the story. The networks were falling over each other
to cover this "fake' story. Shep has become a caricature as he has bought into Fox News.
One minute I was watching the Obama Town Hall meeting in New Orleans, the next minute I was watching an empty balloon fly across the western sky.

It is so sad.”

What Do a Rabbit, Colored Eggs and Candy Have to Do With Jesus? The History of Easter Revealed

Commented Apr 12, 2009 at 12:43:50 in Living

“Easter should be Passover. The eggs and bunnies represent reprodction as practiced by the
non-christians (heathens).

Easter is basically a hybrid of various heathen events and church events.

The bunny and colored eggs, and candy has nothing to do with Christ.

Easter has become a commercial ritual holiday. A big commercial holiday.

Sorry .”

I am a Pagan...but not a Heathen...I do not follow a Heathen religion such as the Astru or Odinism. If you are going to talk about us, know what you are talking about.
And exactly how do we reproduce like bunnies and eggs? LOL....it seems to me that there are alot of Christians that are reproducing like rabbits. We know that the Earth can only provide for so many creatures and we need to respect all on her...”

“Based on the above article, it appears Mr. Crow is a bit behind on the times.

Basically, America has been run and guided by people like Crow. They are the "keepers of the gate".
They insure that things remain the same as much as possible. They live in that dream like time of the 50's and sixties.

The sheer onslaught of Latinos and other minorities coming to America and the election of African Americans and women will be difficult to control.

People like Crow will slowly melt into the ever changing landscape of change.”

“I am ashamed to admit that I am a graduate of Arizona State University--but that was more than 30 years ago, and back then we had real presidents and real professors who understood the principles and programs of the conduct of inquiry. I have an honorary degree from an accredited school and I would never consider putting it on my résumé as it has no value in the real world save for egotistic self-praise. The same is true for anyone who lives on past recognitions and does not offer new examples of continuing study and research in his or her profession or work. The past is past--what counts is that the person continuously strives to better himself or herself. If the person does not show noticeable advancement at the end of the first week, that person should be fired. And there should examinations at the end of each year for each teacher, student, and worker. Progress comes with doing--not receiving a gladhanded pat on the back.”

Obama's team let him down. You don't make appointments based on columnists. You make
appointments based on vetting, reviewing and vetting again.

My theory is , there are some in Obama's administration who may have known about some of the
issues his appointees had. At any rate, those mis-steps slowed Obama's march.

His after election team is not as competent as his campaign staff was. There were very minimal
mistakes made during the two year campaign. It was only after his staff was enlarged did the mistakes begin. There were more mistakes in his firts 45 days after the election, than during the two year campaign.”

“This article demonstrates the level to which MSM and corrupt politicians will go to deny equal access and protection under the law and the Constitution. There has been an orchestrated , concerted, slimy effort to deny Burris the Senate seat and now to "make " him resign.

Note that in this article as well as all the others appearing in MSM, there is no sound evidence of illegal activity. There is however, conjecture, smear and fear mongering, name calling, and hate speech regarding Burris.

With everything that is ocurring in America, we are/have dis-regarded our basic principals of decency and the Constitution. While many have never had any decency, the Constitution has always held this country together.

“Senator Reid and Dick Durbin attempted to deny Buriss the Senatae seat, illegally. When that track failed, Reid then snaked up to Burris and planted one of his staff in Buriss's office.

Bad move on Buriss's part. The trap was set. In addition to being able to monitor every move Burris made, information from Burris's office was available to Reid at all times.

Now at the most advantagious time, you bite Burris by "having your staff member resign".

Now I understand why there was a constant refrain about passing the Stimulus Bill by the President's Day break.

Obama timed the Stimulus Bill so that the U S Congress would be on break in their home districts for the Presidents Day Break.

Local media all over America is doing stories on the impact of the stimulus Bill in their cities and states. School Boards are announcing that they will not layoff Teachers and support personnel due to passage of the Stimulus Bill. State governments are announcing how many State Employees jobs will be saved and highway projects are being considered at the State level.

Remember the meeting Obama had with all the Governors? Obama was smart to involve the Governors . The States already have the mechanisms and structure in place to get the "shovel ready" projects started. This thing is like a Tsunummi. The Republicans in the House and Senate can either join in or get swept away.

Citizens are able to read about the results of the Stimulus Bill and judge for themselves. They can then compare their elected officials stances and votes on the bill.”
