“Obama is the first African-American President. What really galls the "Right wing" isthe fact it will be an African American President that makes health insurance possible for all Americans.
It is a difficult thing for the "closet racists" of the" Right Wing" to accept.
There has been 44 or45 Presidents of the United States of America and it takes a Black man to
ensure that all Americans have acces to health care.
It is hard to take for many. This will also ensure Obama's place as as a great President. It is hard to take for many Americans.”

“The media ran with the story without verifying the facts. The Sheriff is not so smart, and reminds me
of "Barney Pfiffe on Andy of Mayberry.
The father played the media and initially controlled how the story developed. It was dictated by him
contacting the television station with the helicopter. The helicopter visuals ,on the floating balloon
in the western sky, made an irresistible story for cable television. They took the bait, hook-line-and sinker. They were all gushing over the boy being "rescued safely".
It reminded me of the beginning of the Iraq war. They were all falling over each other to report feel good stories about American hero soldiers.
Cable news has become 50% fluff and puff. They could go to a 12 hour schedule and have time left over to report real news.”

GerhardWMagnus replied on Oct 18, 2009 at 20:40:50

“Kurt Cobain was describing the American people when he sang, "Here we are now / Entertain us!" The problem with real news is that is contains too many facts, and facts are basically... boring. Who wants to go to school when they watch TV? The advertising people who run it are playing us for fools.”

“You will never find a military leader advocate the stopping of a war.

The military's job is war and the military leaders live, breathe, and die for war.

Anyone waiting for the military leaders to advocate pulling out of a war, has a long wait.

Obama erred in allowing the influence of the former Bush military leaders. He should correct this error by ending the military adventurism in the middle east.

Whether anyone will admit it or not, 9-11 and Bush's reaction by spending for the wars, broke America's economy. The economy melted under the Iraq and others wars initiated by Bush.

The money spent on war, should be spent on America. Let's put America first.”

Washington Post Calls For Burris' Resignation

Commented Jun 09, 2009 at 01:43:29 in Chicago

“From the beginning, this has been an attempt to deny Burris the Senate seat. This silly call for resignation is a "knee jerk" reaction and deserves to be trashed like yesterday's newspaper.

Why didn't the Washington Post call for Bush's resignation? or Cheney's resignation?. There is no integrity left in most of politics.

Burris is the U S Senator from Illinois.

End of story.”

OtayPanky replied on Jun 09, 2009 at 10:59:34

“Burris is just another corrupt Chicago pol, who happens to be the junior senator from IL at the moment.

He is also, no doubt, under investigation by that admirable hellhound, Patrick Fitzgerald, who put Scooter Libby away, and ended Rod Blago's corrupt career.

So, for the sake of good government, and to set yet one more example, let's all hope he can do the same to this clown.”

You're wrong for believing that you or Miss California or any other American deserves rights that other Americans don't have. Keep your eye on the ball, it's not hard. No gay or lesbian wants special, or extra rights, simply the SAME rights as any other American. Get it? I mean at least take the time and energy to think about what you're embracing. It's a sad fact that people like you will have to have YOUR rights taken away from you by a slim majority before you can grasp the concept of not being free in America.
You have the right to flap your mouth, too. But just like Miss Califakeboobs, when you do so, you expose just how small and ignorant you are.”

Obama has made mostly good decisions so far and the far right has not been able to

That being said , it is amazing the level of discourse in america today. The things that are important are not discussed nor covered in the news.

I guess this is the "new America' and the future will be based on the superficial events presented

He was smart enough to get along with the Morning joe crew without compromising his
