This Guy Will Forever Change The Way You Think About The 'Friend Zone'

Commented Aug 23, 2013 at 22:54:27 in Women

“The friend zone is where girls send you -- and where you allow yourself to be sent -- when they're too chicken to tell you they want you. There's nothing wrong with being friends with women without the possibility of sex, but friendships can't start on dishonesty. Young men want young women...sometimes as a friend, but often as sex partners. Because young women don't want to accept that doesn't make being in the friend zone any less pitiful.”

“Why is it that the left can criticize Obama all they want for no fulfilling his promises, but when the right criticizes Obama for his policies it's hatred? I wish the media would stop being such hypocrites. That's why it's easy for hardliners like Newt to gain traction over moderate centrists like Romney. “This is just hypocrisy, plain and simple. There isn't some profound underlying meaning. When people take it upon themselves to police the thoughts and words of others, they often forget to police their own. Dan Savage is just another example of that.

That's why we just shouldn't get into this losing PC battle of making sure we try and hall monitor what grown people say. People get mad. They curse. They fuss. They say dumb stuff. They move on. Trying to make someone pay for something denigrating to your demographic is an exercise in futility because there's always going to be speech that offends you, and other speech that doesn't, even though it could all be considered hate.”

“We're still dealing with a dead man and someone's story. How do we know the "witnesses" aren't covering for the father? How do we know the forensic evidence (of which there is very little) corroborates anything? How do we know the investigation was thorough? The sheriff was quoted as saying that he has the right to defend his daughter right after the incident happened, which lets me know there was already some sympathy for his story to begin with. How do we know that didn't cloud the so-called investigation?”

“For those of you saying you would've done the same thing in his situation, and that you don't understand how some of us can still doubt the decision not to prosecute the father, I ask you to put yourself in the shoes of the alleged molester's family.

If someone beat your loved one to death because they said he was molesting their child, would you just blindly accept their account, or would you want there to be a trial and make that person prove their innocence? I would venture to say none of you would just accept it quietly and go away because you're too good to judge someone's visceral reaction.”

“I've read your post, tried to forget about it, but couldn't. Why do you need a trial for such a despicable act of inhumanity against a child? You have a traumatized child that was being molested; a father coming to the rescue of his daughter and returning violence for violence against this monster.

I have to assume that you would not have acted similarly as the girls father did in this situation based upon your response, but fortunately this was not your child. Please clarify your statement, "...would you just blindly accept their account, or would you want there to be a trial and make that person prove their innocence?" The father's innocence is not in question...the father beat a molester to death for attacking his child!! In any sane person's eyes the father is innocent because he did what was necessary to protect his child...period, end of story. Count me as one person that accepts this situation and goes quietly away because I can judge the father's viceral reaction for what is was...being a man his daughter can depend upon to keep her safe.

I hope for your childs sake, he/she is never in a position where they have to depend upon your strength of character as a parent to protect them from a predator.”

strangelet on Jun 21, 2012 at 02:25:38

“On the one hand, I agree with your notion that a violent death warrants some investigation. And I also know that killing somebody by just hitting them generally requires continuing to hit them well after they have lost consciousness (or using a tool).

OTOH, if we believe the article, there *was* another witness, who in fact notified the father of his daughter's abduction. If this is true, then the outcome of any inquest or grand jury, or whatever they do in Texas, would have been to clear the father. The DA would have been wasting time and money to pursue the matter further. We are innocent until proven guilty -- there is no requirement to formally interrogate exculpatory witnesses unless there are accusative witnesses.

To paraphrase another commenter, "It's Texas, Jake".”

I'm talking about what they outside of that coverage, which is when they try to act like political scorekeepers. They do much more "debunking" of the right than they do of the left, and it's not a coincidence and it's not because the right "lies" more than the left.”

They track both candidates throughout the campaign, that solidifies my point on the matter. You need to pay more attention to what is said.

As for more analysis of the right than the left, it's because the right LIES more than the left. Granted, when the left lies, it's often a doozy but in every day general politics, 95% of what you hear come out of the mouths of r-wing politicians is BS. It's about 65% of the time with the L-wingers. Both "parties" suck, one just worse than the other.”
