Math Is Not Hard: A Simple Method That Is Changing The World

“Any tips for adults who want to finally, FINALLY learn a little math (the kind with letters of the alphabet in it)?”

“Well, I'm almost 50 and about a year and a half ago I finished my MBA and realized I wanted to progress with my math education. I have always sucked at math, but I went ahead anyway.
So here is what I say. Go to your nearest community college and take the math placement exam. The one I took accurately placed me in Intermediate Algebra. Take the class, read the textbook and do the homework. If you have problems, see a tutor, get the for dummies books on math. They've been a help. Be willing to repeat the class. Establish a rapport with your instructors.
Do problems, and more than doing problems, memorize the patterns. Those patterns show up all over and if you don't know them you won't know how to solve the problem. Don't give up. Because after math with letters, is math with all kinds of cool symbols... then you'll be see what you can really do.”

“If we only had the 700 billion allocated for 'financial rescue' or the trillion or two wasted on the debacle in Iraq to invest in new battery technology. During WWII no new automobiles were produced due to the war effort. President Obama should declare a War on Gas Guzzlers and insist the automakers devote themselves to designing and producing vastly more fuel efficient or battery-powered vehicles or else no bailouts!”

Karl Rove's Executive Privilege May Vanish on January 20, 2009

“On a related note, what is the precedence regarding Presidential pardons regarding crimes possibly committed by Rove, Libby or others? Can a pardon absolve a person from all criminal charges related to an event or action? How about civil charges? And has a pardon ever been given to a company or corporation? These 'little government' types twist the law around themselves like a beach towel and certainly have planned a painfree exit.”

As a loyal New Zealand fan of Obama 4 President for the last 18 months (and totally aware of the guy since 2004 convention speech) I have to say the last thing we want from the USA is any of your Christian nut jobs, thanks.
Go Barack and Joe on Tuesday (Wednesday, our time. I am stuck in a studio all day without TV or the web so I will be relying on people texting me with updates. The excitement is growing down under - and we don't even get to vote!)...
If the US doesn't want you, you'd be welcome down here any time.”
