“The problem with your argument is that the earth's temperature is cooling. In the 70's there was hysteria about the earth cooling and the world being thrust into an ice age. Then, the earth started warming and global warming was the hype. Just like Drudge posting about snowstorms, the global warming enthusiasts rely on temperatures taken in urban areas, and not taken from satellites, which is the best way to gauge the earth's temperature.

Now, liberals have resorted to "climate change" to capture the best of both worlds.

Actors and actresses get paid a lot because of branding: we get used to seeing certain faces so they becomes valuable. It's like the NBC peacock: it's not objectively some sort of amazing logo, but it's worth a lot to NBC because it's symbolism and association.

But people like to believe that they're rich and famous because they are uniquely talented or otherwise special, and therefore they think people ought to treat them like their special. I.e. If Nelson Mandela walked into a restaurant I owned, I'd truly want to treat him to a wonderful free meal to show my appreciation of the work he's done. Famous actors think they should be viewed the same way, because they want to believe that they're special rather than just lucky to have landed a part in a well written, directed, etc show or movie.”
