Robert Joe Halderman, David Letterman's Alleged Extortionist, Was Deep In Debt

“What kind of bail is $200,000 for a man with his income? He only needs to out up $20,000. Will not be surprised if he disappears.
Comparing Letterman with politicians is not appropriate, because most of the politicians caught in adultery lately have been those holier-than-thou hypocrite fundamentalists from the whacked-out West. Or maybe they believe in living the biblical morality of the time of Abraham when many men had plural wives.”

“It's pretty good bail considering there was no violence. Let's see what happen if the Feds get involved-this is an interstate crime.”
Michael Moore: I May QUIT Documentaries

“And the older GM from previous times which provided his family with prosperity and security is the same GM which bought up all the streetcar companies nationwide so it could shut them down and sell America's cities hundreds of huge fleets of polluting buses and destroy the atmosphere. Nostalgia for an earlier era of capitalist exploitation and destruction?”

“I shouldn't presume to speak for Moore, but I'll do it anyway. I think he would say that the union provided his family with prosperity and security...not because of, but in spite of, GM.”

“It is wonderful that he saved all those lives. But the pattern throughout human history, from the dawn of agriculture to today, has been continual food crises which are solved by agricultural innovation. This has led inexorably to population increases to the point where humans are threatening to destroy the health of the ecosystem and bring catastrophic disruptions in civilization over the next century. We may not be able to have it both ways.”

Five Former Slaves Who Are Changing the World

“As an animal rights activist, I care about animals' problems because humans have a lot more people caring about human problems, and because animals are exploited so much worse than any humans are.. Pigs are shipped thousands of miles in winter without food or water, crowded into open trucks, their flesh often frozen to the metal slats so they must be pried off bloodily with crowbars when they arrive at the slaughterhouse. In factory farms, many animals are not accorded the space to turn around or to lie down, and spend their lives standing up 24 hours a day choking in ammonia from their own waste, their legs suffering from painful injuries from continual standing.. It is difficult to find humans subjected to this kind of treatment. Pigs and chickens are often boiled alive for purposes of debristling and defeathering. Steers and cows are often dismembered or skinned while still alive and conscious. Fur animals are electrocuted by rods plunged into their anus, after lives of freezing cold in cages open on two sides to the winter weather. These things are worse than what are done to humans, and are even worse than our usual concepts of hell.. I hope the HuffPost will have the courage to print what I have written so their readers can know the truth. .”

“One look around the world, or even in this nation, and you'll see that there are NOT enough people looking out for other people. They divide into tribes, in-groups and out-groups, and they only look out for themselves.”
Inflation jumps by biggest amount in 6 months

“Core inflation excludes energy and food prices. That's like saying the core of the solar system excludes the sun. It's just another example of government economic reporting which increasingly is skewed to keep people from knowing the real facts, as least as much as possible. Same with labor market statistics. They don't count people as unemployed who have gotten so discouraged they've stopped looking for work. Great way to report on unemployment. This whole economy is a house of cards ready to collapse. In the meantime, these "good" economic statistics like the core inflation report, give the stock market an excuse to rally for a day, before panicking again on Monday. The big players don't care whether it goes up or down, because they are all day traders - all the big banks and brokerages that "trade for their own accounts" - this means they bet on the day's movement and are out of the market completely every night, selling all their stocks every day by 4 PM. They love movement, up or down, they don't care, as long as they guess right. Unfortunately Lehman guessed wrong - its "trading for its own account" lost it big money last quarter. It's all a shell game, folks, but unfortunately the bridge table is now decaying under the shells.”
Chris Matthews' Explosive Profile: Forced To Apologize To Clinton, Wants To Be Russert, Afraid Of Being Kidnapped

“He is unserious because to him it's a game. He's said it often enough: he's a political junkie, addicted to politics as a sport and couldn't care less about the issues. That's why he comes off as an idiot. Also if he talks any faster and interrupts his guests any more he will swallow his tongue, which wouldn't be a such a bad idea.”
Clinton Campaign Stands By Harsh Letter To Pelosi

“The fat cats of both parties have built this American worldwide empire up, oppressing people the world over, bombing and invading wherever they see fit, staging many coups, propping up the most vicious dictators, ruining the lives and environments of powerless native peoples, maintaining an American presence (both aboveboard and in secret) in over 120 countries, all the while feathering their own nests royally and richly for over 50 years. At this moment in the former Soviet Muslim republics to the south of Russia, we prop up several vicious dictators so they will let us build new oil pipelines. Will the Democrats under Obama free these peoples? Don't be too sure. Good luck you young and older Obama supporters in helping him try to take the reins of power, but beware betrayal. He still will have to contend with the permanent American oligarchy of both parties. Don't think they're giving up power easily or quickly, no matter who is elected. Don't be deceived by the Declaration and the Constitution. You don't rule, THEY DO.

“The media is too arrogant in siding with their favorite candidates and treating the others like pariahs and devils. Maybe Hillary's victories in Texas and Ohio were partly due to a backlash against the bias in the media. If so, I applaud those voters. Furthermore, the media's almost absolute refusal to recognize its own bias outdoes even the arrogant blindness of the Bush administration. This goes for the Huffington Post as well as the rest of the baying pack.”
In The Paper Of Record, An Inexcusable Error

“After Jason Blair, then Judith Miller (the self-styled "Miss Run Amok") stupidly helping Bush push the U.S. into the Iraq War, then the supposed antiwar critics who said the surge was working in an op-ed, and then turned out to really be all-along war supporters, this is no longer the Paper of Record. it's an all-too-human paper of fumbles. It's past time it lost that vaunted appellation.”
