Why Keep Geithner?

Commented Nov 02, 2009 at 13:43:17 in Business

“Why would he stepdown? He's a banker and doesn't care about public opinion. We must force Obama to fire him. Is responsibility dead?”

sonofsamphm1c replied on Nov 02, 2009 at 13:56:04

“Just a few hints at understanding westerns. The hero is the sheriff who faces down an irrational lynch mob. The coward is the man who steps aside and allows a high-tech lynching of an innocent person.

99% of the nonsense written about Timothy Geithner is false.”

A New Wrinkle in the JFK Assassination Story

Commented Oct 30, 2009 at 13:02:28 in Books

“Jfk died because he and his brother wanted to breakup the CIA. The CIA had a lot to lose and the CIA is in the right business to pull it off. One lone man? Not beleivable.”

LateBoomer2 replied on Oct 30, 2009 at 13:47:15

“Except that no credible evidence exists for any assassin except Oswald. I was not convinced either, until I read Bugliosi on this.”

kmac23va replied on Oct 30, 2009 at 13:16:22

“Especially if you go to Dallas and look at the kill zone, which is marked with an X in the street at the spot of the final shot. Go up in the depository (it costs a bit, but it's worth it) and look out the windows (you can get pretty close I think) and look down at the spot. Then go out and find the white picket fence, go behind that, and look out. Finally, dodge traffic and stand on the X, look at both areas.

When I saw the movie JFK, I thought the distance between the fence and the limo was far...it's -real- close though. That plus the angles just makes it real weird.

This account, though, if true, does suggest to me that LBJ didn't have anything to do with it. If he was just crying, you might think it was remorse for what he did, but muttering about a conspiracy makes you figure he thought he was a target.”

How Tough is Our President?

Commented Aug 18, 2009 at 18:03:20 in Politics

“love it! Obama's colors are changing... become an independent! The Democrats are good for nothing and Republicans are stuck on stupid”

Darkhorse77 replied on Aug 18, 2009 at 20:47:26

“I became an independent during the Clinton administration, but supported and voted for Obama. So what's the big deal about being an independent? You really only have two choices: (1) crazy or (2) sellout. The Democratic Party means very little any more.”

“The news room needs to go back to being non-profit. Next President needs to rethink the FCC rules and regulate!”

laserbob replied on Apr 30, 2008 at 20:54:24

“As well as re-instating some type of fairness doctrine.
I still remember as a kid when at the end of a news show,
Joe Q. Public, anyone, could get their 10 minutes on the
air to complain, praise, or just dissemble about whatever
was on their mind, or the issues of the day. And fair time
had to be given to anyone that wanted to rebut!
What a concept for a democracy, this was really a
pre-cursor to today's "blogging". And it even went to
the point that you could go on the air and critique the
station that was putting you on the air! Can you imagine
your local, and network news allowing this now? This
is the way it was, and should be, the concept and
practice was tossed without any thought by the
Reagan crowd..
