“I swear this happened.. ..
A couple of weeks ago, I was watching Fox News (my dad rules the TV) and when the story was over, they had a teaser on screen about the next story coming up. One of the words used on the teaser was 'phenomena .' Ms. Carlson read it and pronounced it....say this phonetical ly....'fee -no-ME-na. ' The other host quickly read it quickly to cover up her faux pas but the damage had been done.
Fee-no-ME-na.
You can't fix stupid.”

“I watched this last night and cried. Me, this cynical, tough old, Vietnam vet cried. We should march about 30 or so of these elected officials through hospitals and clinics and get these people acquainted with the suffering, the poor, the uninsured, because they clearly do not know anyone who is in this situation. If they did, there wouldn't be this disconnect. And by the way, I've been uninsured for years.”
Betsy McCaughey, Dylan Ratigan Spar Over Health Care Reform

“I watched this battle this morning. Wow. Weiner was throwing facts at her and she was whiffing at al of them. When she appealed to the umpire Ratigan, he basically told her to play the game at the major league level.
Ok, that metaphor stunk. But it was incredibly sweet to see these guys take her apart and leave her flailing away at the "unfairness" of it all.
Why can't Blitzer do this? Or Mitchell or Gregory or Couric or Ifill or anyone who purports to be a journalist/newman? I'd like to see her on the Ed Show. And I can't wait to see what Rachel Maddow does to Rick Berman tonight. If he shows.”

Conservatives Revel In Obama's Olympic Bid Failure

“Do I have this straight? Republicans are HAPPY we didn't get the Olympics? And just HOW many jobs would this have provided? HOW much money would have been spent and earned at the Olympics? And the Repubs REJOICE about this at a time of 10% unemployment? As usual, the Repubs are shooting themselves in their collective foot.
You know, I know there are Republicans who care and who are embarrassed by what their party is doing. To those people I ask, why aren't you doing the right thing and saying enough is enough? Find the personal and political courage to denounce those in your party who are dragging it down. Pardon the pun, but say no....to this.”

“Know the REAL reason behind the ratings? Fox and CNN are the only cable news outlets allowed on the basic cable or dish packages. You have to pay for the others. The vast majority of rural people (who can only get cable or dish) only buy the basic package as they can't afford upgrades. And THAT'S why Fox's ratings are so disproportionately high vis-a-vis their content.”

That's abuse of power and you are way off base to suggest such a thing. Wait until you get arrested and taken downtown to get mug shots and fingerprinted and put in a cell because the officer just wants to. Hopefully, you'll sing a different tune then. I sincerely hope so.”

“No. Luring Gates outside his house to arrest him for being disorderly in "public" is an old police trick and happens all the time. The officer did not act within the scope of the situation. Rather, he furthered it by arresting Gates and the charges immediately dropped. ANYTIME this happens it is a tacit admission that the arrest was faulty and there wasn't enough evidence to sustain the charge.”

Katie Holmes' Leggy Judy Garland Dance (VIDEO)
Commented Jul 24, 2009 at 10:36:17 in Entertainment
“As a performer for over 40 years, I can only muse which was worse....t he dancing or the singing. Her "dancing" was merely moving to the beat, toe pointing, lifts....b asic stuff choreographers do when they know their "star" can't dance. Have the pros around her move and dance and voila, the star is dancing. As for her voice, well, she's on key. That's it. The best I can say for her is that I've seen much worse. This performance was lackluster, contrived and flat.”
Mikeeee replied on Jul 24, 2009 at 11:06:29
