Why I'm Not Now and Have Never Been the Democrats' "Rush Limbaugh"

Commented Mar 06, 2009 at 12:26:07 in Politics

“Michael Moore, I agree with you.
Rush Limbaugh needs to be quiet because he has no advice for the president. First of all, President Obama and John McCain were running for president not Limbaugh. We are sitting on the outside of the White House looking in and we don not know exactly what the president have to go through with these stupid republicans. If we just sit back and give President Obama the benefit of the doubt maybe we will see success. All these master minds like Limbaugh and others had a chance to run for president, but they chose not too. Where was Limbaugh when Bush was messing up the United States? Its okay for a republican to mess up, but time a democrat especially an African-American democrat steps in and try to provide help for the American people then this is the time, when the republicans have so much too say. Racism is still a problem in America. Limbaugh can't judge Obama, because God did not grant him a "Hell" or "Heaven" to put Obama in.”

Stimulus Package: If You Jump Halfway Across a Chasm You Fall Into the Abyss

Commented Feb 03, 2009 at 14:52:49 in Politics

“The stimulus package needs to be place where it is needed most: highways, education, sick children facilities and foreclosures (homeless). Let these other companies file bankruptcy.”

Texasbacksass replied on Feb 03, 2009 at 15:09:15

How about adding to your list the totally handicapped/disabled and retired workers that had no high dollar income jobs with 401K's or other retirement programs nor the independent opportunity to save and/or invest and have to depend on the lousy pauper dough Social Security gives them.

More people than will admit it that post right here on this blog have worked all their lives working in jobs that allow(ed) them to barely keep up with the ever rising cost of living much less save up for their retirement, old age, and failing health that comes with old age,”

“I understand that we are trying to keep the racial aspect out of this situation. The point is the officer was wrong for what he did and I know he did not show any remorse. It was three (3) against one (1) and it appeared that Oscar was not armed. The main problems we are having is that our young generation need to dress up, brush up and stop wearing their pants below their butts, removed the fake diamond earrings and remove the dreads and braids. I'm not saying that Oscar was a bad person, but our young black men bring a lot of problems against themselves. I'm not worried about who is against my blogging, but it is the truth. In some of these cases this is the reason why our young generations are not given a fair trial.”

MoeB replied on Jan 12, 2009 at 15:16:23

“Riiiight. If blacks just pull up their pants, stop wearing earrings, and cut our hair off, we'd be golden with the cops...and the negative perceptions of black men would just wash away! LOL

I wear dreadlocks...have had them for over 6 years. Does that make me a potential threat because of my dreads?

And correction: SOME blacks bring this on themselves. To say that somehow an unarmed man who, posing no immediate threat to the officers or those around him, was brutally shot to death is somehow justified because of fashion is utterly ridiculous.”

noseysniper replied on Jan 10, 2009 at 16:03:24

“That's right black kiddies. Just stop dressing a certain way and you won't be murdered by policemen. If you get killed it's your fault, you shouldn't have been dressed the way you were. AND PULL YOUR PANTS UP”

Akenaten replied on Jan 10, 2009 at 13:18:22

“I don't agree with all of what you are saying. This young man was killed for what he was not what he had on. This is a common thread woven throughout American history. White kids dress in many ways exactly like black kids and even engage in other more bizzare styles of dress. Why is it us who always has to change. As to hairstyles, the dreads and braids are part of some attempt to connect with alost hearitage. These were worn by our ancestors. Our young people deserve the chance to experiment with their dress and style as much as anyone. Every generation had some form of dress and expression that was not well recieved by those who see themselves as the custodians of culture. However, with blacks, some dangerous conotation is always put on anything we do to have some identity of our own. Conform or die is the message. Yet, have you noticed how we are imitated by everyone in dress, speech, and song. Even before this time, the fiftties and sixties, our young people werent given fair trials and these current fashions weren't even in vogue yet. What you offer is an excuse for murder and it is a weak one. Humans are humans no matter what they are wearing. This young mans pants and hair didnt attack the officer and niether did his fists or feet. Fashion is a poor excuse for murder. IFit was valid no high fashion runway would be safe.”

theplaintrutho1 replied on Jan 10, 2009 at 13:14:39

“It is so sad that you already knew that some would be against your comment. It is even sadder that you know why. YES, you maybe AA, but no matter if you are not, this IS America. Land of freedom of speech, EXPRESION, religion, etc.

Somehow, I don't think you understand what the Nazi's, Neo-Nazi's, and KKK was all about. They were about, people that didn't look, act, dress, think, pray and be like them them.
So no matter whether you're black, white, or other, the idea of "A more perfect union" is an American idea. If you are not American, read our constitutions and laws, if you are American, read our constitution and laws.

You see, here in the USA, we are not required to conform to what ever concernvoter thinks is right for all of us whites, blacks or others.”

DonStandback replied on Jan 03, 2009 at 09:26:05

“Yeah. Well, Ayer's line of BS might play outside of Chicago. Having the inmates run the asylum has put every school district into the red in Illinois. Duncan made some tough calls and held some teachers feet to the fire, and made principals responsible for their schools. He's closed the ones that don't work, and opened ones that do. We still have hundreds of under performing public schools, and mopes like Ayers have done, despite their rhetoric, less than zero to truly advance teaching our children more effectively to compete, having diverted away millions of dollars for pet projects that could have bought chalk, paper, and pencils; maybe even a good teacher or two.

Our universities do not adequately teach teachers how to teach, there are no best teaching practices spread methodically, and enforced. What we do get are self proclaimed experts like Ayers advancing their own agenda and vision of what education should be.

No thanks.”
