Yes, thank you. I am so shocked at the "waffling" of the dems support for Obama. No wonder dems have such a problem with solidarity.
Transition takes time. That seems like such a logical awareness.
This is so much better than "W's I am the decider" manner.”

You do not speak for me. I am a progressive, and I realize that such massive transition and change takes time.
Making a deliberate, careful, and considered decision is not "waffling". I respect your right to your opinion, but not all "progressives are displeased"....as you stated.”

“Change takes action and there is little. Instead of action for change of the status quo, the change has been in O's approach to opponents, from "enough is enough" to "please, O Snowe, what can I do to please you"”

Agreed. I have had the same thoughts. I wonder if part of it is because of our "instant gratification" society. I am shocked at the lack of awareness that some things take time. I did not expect so many of Obama's supporters to be fickle.”

I am a Texan too, who is fed up with the likes of pretty boy Perry and also the redneck and red-state mentality of ignorance among some in this state.
Fortunately, it isn't all of the people.......I moved from Lubbock to Houston area and it is more diverse here.
And, the Bible incident is ludicrous. I would like to say, "prove it". But, sadly, it fits with some of the mentality I've seen!”

“Right. This is not a game. Reality is setting in for many and it is not pretty. We would rather be fed lies and mirage to keep us at ease. Right now what we see is a President who is showing himself as a flawed human. In no way, shape, or form am I saying that he does not protect us from some truths, but I don't think we could handle all the information he has access to. But I do think he means well by us and that is priceless as it means, he is going to make thoughtful decisions. He is being called everything from incompetent to weak but you do not see his demeanor change. This is something that gives you confidence in him as he could easily go back and forth with his critics, but he chooses to stand his ground.”

He is already chastized and castigated by those who hate him. And, be a naysayer all you want, but the Nobel Peace Prize carries great symbolic value.
And, regardless, Obama will probably never do enough for you to be satisfied.

Thank you for helping those who believe in Obama keep our perspective. I have been absolutely apalled by the reaction of some of the narrow non-thinkers in this country, and I have been shocked by the mean racism that has burst forth in venom.
I have had to call out some of my "friends" on Facebook over racist cartoons/jokes. But, I have made a covenant with myself to not stand silent when I hear or see racism .....eve knowing that those who perpetrate it will respond in denial of it being that. But, those of us who see it must be silent no more.”

In the words of Jose Antonio Vargas:
"Why gays can't wait is because 29 states ban same-sex marriages, while the Defense of Marriage Act waits to be repealed. Why gays can't wait is because gays and lesbians serving in the U.S. military, while being sent to fight wars, can't be open about who they are. Why gays can't wait is because people lose their jobs merely because they are gay. Why gays can't wait is because gay rights, after all, are civil rights."

“Those points are well taken, but they are not even in the Universe of fundamental problems that US economy/people have which is lack of Universal Nationalized Health Care and ending Iraq War and wasting much less of our money (Taxes) on a gargantuan Military spanning the globe.
I mean on one hand lack of Universal Nationalized Health Care in this country which will at least KILL 100,000 Americans this year due to being denied health care, either because they cannot pay the exorbitant fees for health care or preexsting conditions, and OTOH regarding Gays issues we are talking about some modest economic hits to their pockets books, they are not even remotely comparable as to their urgency and importance.”
