McCain: Obama Created More Partisan Environment Than Bill Clinton

Commented Dec 20, 2009 at 11:23:05 in Politics

“The assumption here is that Bush did not create such an environment. It was bad enough to have a White House that suffered intelligence problems. But please, please do not leave Bush's political bulling go unmentioned as if it did not exist. Bush was the most divisive president since prior to the civil war. When do the Republicans want to solve problem with out creating hysteria? This comparison is not historically accurate or serves any sort of purpose. Remember this was the White House that outed a CIA agent because someone did not agree with their "intelligence".”

“The religious right engages in considerable name calling. An example is "inappropriate." So I guess it is appropriate to send her boyfriend sex tapes. But for Larry to ask a question about the reason she decided to settle he is inappropriate. Perhaps it would be more appropriate to ask why she sent sex tapes of her self in a self-stimulating posture? Is it really inappropriate to be puzzled by her behavior?”

"I Object": Tom Price Tries To Shut Down Democratic Congresswomen (VIDEO)

Commented Nov 08, 2009 at 13:14:52 in Politics

“We are a government of the people. We need and require change in a health care system that would rather devour its young for a profit than care for basic needs of the people. Private industry has failed the people. Like in the days of the robber barons and trust busters, we the people require the business of health care be taken out of the hands of those that would rather have the majority suffer unspeakable pain than loose a penny of profit. The insatiable appetite for profit above all else from all corners of the health care industry has resulted in calls for reform from the people.
The cost of health care has become so great that the economy has begun to suffer. The only way health care can continue to maintain its horrific profit margins is to simply consume the middle class. The insurance and the for profit hospitals need regulation to support the end of suffering and treat illness without bankrupting or allowing death to the members of the middle class. This is not about destruction of individual rights, or about gun control or the need to organization militias , it is about loving and caring health care.”

Bush: "I Did Not Sell My Soul"

Commented Oct 23, 2009 at 16:45:53 in Politics

“In order to sell your soul you have to have one. And if you had one, would anyone really want to buy it?”

Joethepauper replied on Oct 23, 2009 at 17:03:24

“And since everyone on Wall St. sold their souls at about the same time, that would mean that the market for souls would be flooded with sellers with nobody buying. That would decrease the value of each soul until buyers became interested again. I guess he sold it for cheap. He's making up for that by speaking to an audience of 1,000 people who paid $400.00 each.....that's $400,000.00. How is that soul able to be sold so often? Is there a market for soul derivatives?”

“The health care industry is very regulated in how and what we door with the patients. But the insurance industry trumps everything and make direct medical decisions based on profits rather than what is in the best interest of the patient. There is no regulation that I can see to prevent the insurance in making these kind of decisions. The Insurance companies have their own death panels already in place”

“I believe there is a problem with gated communities and with homeowner's associations in general. Is it even Constitutional to have an organization to tell you what decorations you can have or not have for your holidays. Can they restrict who you have visit and stay overnight. Can they restrict you to what color you can have your car? While I appreciate the fact that many of the communities seek to meet the special needs of the senior; there is a tendency to put ageism into overdrive. It is a growing problem that more seniors are taking up the raising of their grandchildren. Still on fixed incomes, facing profound disappoint in their children' but holding responsibility to their grandchildren; they attempt to carry on.
I am reminded of the story of one of my parent's neighbors in the senior community. Their daughter just gave birth only to be abandoned by her looser of a husband. The grandmother took both of them in while the daughter recovered from he birthing process. The daughter and the baby stayed only three days before the homeowner's association went nuts. What Kind of a society are we living in? I think it is time we put some Constitutional regulations on the homeowners generally and take a look at the discrimination evident in 55 and over communities.”
