Sarah Palin Aide Rebecca Mansour: Our Crosshairs Map Had Nothing To Do With Violence Or Guns

Sarah Palin Aide Rebecca Mansour: Our Crosshairs Map Had Nothing To Do With Violence Or Guns

Commented Jan 9, 2011 at 20:12:07 in Politics

“Looks like the GPS in my car. Implying Palin is to blame for today's tragedy is just dishonest reporting. It's backfilling a stroy to fit the anti-Palin mindset (and I'm no fan). That some 9000 have heaped their lynch-mob like comments here shows EXACTLY where the vitriol lies.”

renoir on Jan 9, 2011 at 20:30:22

“People here are trying to make sense of a tragedy.

Palin used incendiary language about Congresswoman Giffords. I'm not presuming that Palin's hate talk is directly connected to this terrible incident, but I sure do believe that she has contributed greatly to the degraded political discourse in this country.

Question for you: do you honestly think that talk has no consequences? That dishonest and fiery language such as "death panels" has no ill effect on our society? Do you not hold people responsible for contributing to an ugly and clearly violent climate? Are you giving a full pass to those who use hate to advance their political agenda? If so, you are sadly naive my friend... and you are selective in your judgment.

I fear for our society when people like you cannot condemn hate language when it's amplified by a political party or candidate. We should all condemn it.

Posters here? They're just people talking. They have little to no power. But those who do have a pulpit or a podium from which to shout their opinions have a responsibility to be honest, civil and tone down the us vs. them rhetoric. That ugly trait is owned by Palin and her crowd. On that much we should be able to agree.”

And really, you expect anyone to believe that you are "no fan" of $arah's?”

laaambchop on Jan 9, 2011 at 20:21:49

“gps?

oh come on...she meant to use gun sites, thought it was cute, and now she is going to get hammered...hard...it does NOT help that her rep is outright lying about the symbols...the lying will be her downfall...of course people ought to realize she did NOT mean to have the reps shot...but why is she lying about the gun sights?”

illini74 on Jan 9, 2011 at 20:20:53

“I just posted this as a reply to someone else but since I have no hope it will be posted I'll try once again with a reply to your post....

"Palin didn't pull the trigger so of course I do not blame her ..
did she wish anyone dead when she put cross hairs on her site map ... I honestly don't think so....

Did Sarah have the intelligence and awareness to realize her cross hairs might incite others to hatred of any kind ... no I do not think Sarah has that kind of intelligence or awareness...otherwise she would have never posted that cross hairs map.

Pulling the cross hairs down yesterday after the shooting speaks volumes that no rational person can ignore."”

EndTheGOP on Jan 9, 2011 at 20:19:10

“Dagoalie, nice try, but this violent rhetoric was called out when Palin first put up the gunsight riddled page. Palin was calling Obama a terrorist during the campaign, reciting gun based rhetoric during the 2010 campaign season. This woman needs to be dealt with vigorously.”

“I think Fox news had, what they called, a fake news show. I don't remember what it was called, but when the great Lewis Black was doing his segment on he said this. "I can't believe they stole the same idea that we stole. You know what a fake news show on fox should be giving you. REAL NEWS."

And as for Stewart giving Fox legitimacy, have you ever heard of a show called Crossfire? No? That's because of Stewart.”

Everyone wants healthcare for unisured parties...very few want it delivered by our governement. America is not Europe on purpose. Be glad!!”

“Believe it or not, that's not true. The Obama tax "cut," will result in a net increase in taxes. That's OK, we're used to the rhetoric. It's about WHO is getting the tax break...you, or the employer who hires 25400 of you. You decide. Are Republicans that misguided, or is it possible you have not heard the whole story?”
