“Excellent Article! You hit all of the points that I have been mulling over since this debate began. I'm starting to get a little nervous about all the threats going on, and I also think it needs to be turned down a few notches. I'm worried that it will only get worse as time goes on. And you're right. It's not about healthcare. It's about people feeling like they're losing their country/power and I'm almost certain that Obama knew this would be part of the problem with his presidency. That's why he said I'm your president too!”

The police officer should have apologized and gave his name and badge number. He arrested a professor (that uses a cane) in his home for getting loud. Black folks cannot get angry. “I agree with your statement. Ms. Reardon, you praise the President only to politely put him down in the same paragraph. Our new President is in position that no one in my lifetime has had to deal with. He's working hard so we don't complain, and he gets told he's doing too much, then not enough. Can you imagine having this weight on your shoulders to bear? And yes he chose this and we chose/voted for him. I would think there are obviously things he finds out from the intelligence briefings that he cannot say publicly. Why is everyone in such a rush to condemn this man? I just don't get it.”

I know this hurts some and they want to be mad, but as you so graciously pointed out Obama has been talking about this from the beginning. It's like hugging a bully. I am thankful that we do have some people that truly understand. When Obama didn't fight back hard in the debates, you could tell he was putting his plan into action and I was able to witness this change with my very own eyes. I didn't have to keep trying to read about what it meant, I actually saw it, like I do now. He's a truely smart man and I couldn't be happier.”

“Carol, glad to see that someone really notices the different behavior of our President Bill Clinton. All he has to do is watch himself on tv and he'll figure it out. He defended himself by saying he only had one meeting with Barack when he visited Bill in Harlem. Every since the SC primary race, he's said and done things I never thought he would do. Once HIllary lost, it still seemed he was bitter until the convention. At the convention he still didn't seem confident that Barack should be president. It makes you really wonder, who do the Clintons owe and what promises did they make thier supporters? It's truly embarrassing. Luckily Barack has picked up on this and despite his need to want Bill in his corner, he knows its a long shot. I just don't get it.”

“I'm not sure why you want him to 'let the anger loose'. That's the problem. Obama doesn't have anger to 'let loose'. He doesn't operate that way and never has. Can you name one instance where he's 'let his anger loose'? So to think that he would start now is ridiculous. The fact of the matter is that not only is he smart, he can disagree with you in still carry on a respectful conversation.
I hope Obama sticks to what he is all about and what his campaign has always been about. The 'bbq media' (coined by Bob Cesca) would love for this man to go off on the old white guy, so he can be labeled as the scary blacky guy. He has so many hoops to jump through, half of them are constantly on fire. He needs to continue being level headed and speaking about the issues and he'll be just fine.
Remember, we almost had Hillary Clinton as our nominee. Can you even imagine the vitrol that would be the theme of this election? Obama's technique reminds us 'thinkers' that there is more to a debate than just 'letting the anger loose'. He makes us normal folks think about things deeper. Also no one pointed out that he didn't say um that much, and that he is great without a telepromter, and he tried to engage Mccain directly. How come we can't focus on the things he did well?”

IMO John McCain sold his soul to the devil when he was adamantly against torture and against allowing the Geneva conventions regarding torture to be changed.
McCain then went into the Bush WH defiant and came out in TOTAL agreement. It's like he was given a labotamy while he was there. I have every reason to believe that it was at that moment in time he was promised to be the next POTUS by Bush (and his cohorts) as long as McCain showed fierce public agreement for the changes to torture.
John McCain was once a very straight-forward honorable man. He has done a 360 degree turn on who is is and what he stood for.”

“Bob you're correct in your assessment of the media...but even C-SPAN this morning was awful. Scully only allowed McCain supporters to call in and talk about Mcain's week and Barack's speech, then he had Mr. Izzo on to talk about how much he supports McCain and how McCain had a great week too.
Every Republican calling in kept saying Barack Obama was arrogant. How many words will the RNC send out in their Talking Points Memo to see if it will stick to Obama? He's arrogant now?

Also Andrea Mitchell is doing the american people a disservice with her reporting. You can tell without a doubt that she wants to be negative towards Obama, but why would she go on this trip knowing she's going to go out of her way to say something negative? Especially when it's written all over her face.

People around the world will see what the American Republican Party stands for and no matter what is said about Barack's speech...the world is yearning for a new US president that has the world's intrest at heart. Barack Obama be our next President.”
