“I simply love the First Lady! She is so down to earth, so ordinary. It is so refreshing to have "real" people in the White House. You feel as if they can relate to you and you can relate to them. I hope we get to keep them there for the entire 8 years. I can't imagine a White House without them anymore. I'm just loving this!”

“If people insist on having someone to blame if health care reform doesn't happen, they need to blame their democratic representatives, not Pres. Obama. If it were up to him only, we'd have a bill now. It's not! It has to be a joint effort. However, some of our democratic representatives are either so greedy, weak, ignorant, conservative or bigoted that they refuse to act in the interest of their constituents. In my mind, that means...YOU'RE FIRED! Therefore, before you go trying to blame the President maybe you need to look closer to home. ARE YOUR REPRESENTATIVES ACTING ON YOUR BEHALF OR THEIR OWN?”

“I am so glad that President Carter has had the courage and the mental and moral fortitude to state the truth about the current political environment. My hope is that more of our “so-called” leaders will follow him and have the courage to face this situation head-on and call it by its real name(s)...bigotry and racism. Bigotry and racism will always be a problem in this country if we continue to ignore it and/or tell ourselves that it no longer exists. You can’t fix your problems if you can’t even face the fact that you have them. Wake up, people! It’s time to be honest with ourselves about this issue.”

Many times I sat looking at people with what must have surely been an aghast look on my face, unable to believe that I had heard them correctly. Many of my husbands friends found themselves on the receiving end of a blistering retort, and learned quickly not to expect mercy from me should they let rip with a 'funny story about two n*gs' (or 'q*eers', or whatever epithet was involved). To this day, those that know me warn their friends about spewing that nastiness while in my company, lest they find themselves in the verbal equivalent of an acid-bath... ;)”

“Seems to me that there was a lot more for the American people to be enraged about during the previous administration; yet most were absolutely silent. So, what has the current President done to create such rage among some of our citizens? Nothing. Absolutely nothing! He simply won and was born black. This nation has much to be ashamed of right now. This bigotry and fanaticism hurts us all and our nation’s image immensely. It’s truly sad, especially, given that our image around the world was beginning to improve with the election of President Obama. What an absolutely thankless job he has. He has my utmost respect, support and prayers.”

“I used to like Lou Dobbs. However, ever since the presidential campaign he's shown a side of himself that I found to be really disturbing. I wrote him during the campaign about his seemingly "new" attitude. Of course, I never got a response. I'm glad to know that people are beginning to see him for what he is, finally. He lost all credibility with me a while ago.”

He calls himself an independent and CNN keeps saying "Lou is looking out for you".
