“She's like that bad house guest that won't go home. And why is the press enamored with every crackpot comment she makes?

I do find it amusing though, that the quitter feels the need to defend her 1/2 term as Governor of a State of 660,000 while continuing to deny that climate change might be caused by humans. Perhaps it was the shine off of Putin's big forehead that is melting Alaskas glaciers and destroying habitat. In her world he's not really human.”

“My disapointment lies in his passivity. I know he needs the whole Democratic Party to be able to get things done, but he doesn't have that,

I had plenty of outrage about Bush and the Republicans. Obama inherited their mess, but what worries me is that he seems content to not be the leader when we desperately need a leader. He's a smart man, maybe he'll learn.

Bush could have ruled the world after 9-11, but he squandered that and then some by his immoral, incompetent and corrupt leadership.”

Health Care Reform....NO
End the Afghanistan war....NO

President Obama either thinks he is not vulnerable in 2012 or he is getting bad advice, because he is losing support at Tiger Woods speed.”

“This is NOT about Obama, and I'm not even sure how the Tiger Woods analogy is relevant - oh yeah, I know why.....that's how you view this President, hence your intolerance after 11 months, when you certainly gave previous presidents their good 4-8 years before you cast judgement.”

Gretel1or2 replied on Dec 15, 2009 at 22:57:08

“That's the problem..you people think this is about OBama, when it's not. FAR from it...it's about real people's lives and health. Healthcare reform has been in the works for 60+ years, so what makes you think that all of a sudden it shoudl be soooo easy with OBama, when it got killed during many presidencies past, including Clinton's who was a two-term president and left office with a high approval rating???? Where was the outrage about the banks, healthcare and the war during the last 8 years???? Bush had an almost 90% approval rating at the end of his first year - WHY?”

President Obama may have made a huge mistake by escallating Afghanistan. If in fact he uses this surge as a way to get us out he'll be OK. If it is preceived as just more of the same Democrats will pay by voters staying home in 2012.”

“The American Legislative process is torturous by design. The Senate was created to specifically mung up the works with the theory that the majority would trample the rights of the minority. Unfortunately with a few exceptions the senate is populated by the same people who rubber stamped Bush's wars of adventure and repealed regulations that created the scenario where the financial system melted down.

There hasn't been enough change in that body to get something as vital as a national health care system passed that isn't a give away of taxpayer money to the health Insurance Companies and will end up costing Americans in higher premiums. We need to focus on Senators who need to be voted out of office

“Phil Gramm is probably the single most culpable politician who set the table for the financial meltdown when he sponsored the repeal of the Glass Steagall act which gutted the regulations of the banking industry. This allowed the banks to create the murkey dirivitive market.

The old Republican mantra is that the market will police itself. We've all seen the fallacy of that although the Republicans haven't as they invited 100 bankers to advise them on how they should vote on the banking regulations bill.

Banks are not willingly going to be good citizens. They are concerned by two things, profit and their own personal compensation. Stop trying to molify these guys. They won't do anything on their own.”

“I have to agree with Arianna. Larry Summers has had his run. Rather than getting tough on banks and breaking up the too big to fail bunch or putting stipulations on money given by the FDIC, Summers tells the banks that we have their backs. Meanwhile banks like Goldman Sachs accept TARP funds at practically no interest rate and instead of reinvesting it back in America, loan it to Australia at a higher interest rate while American workers are laid off because their companies can no longer get short term business loans needed for growth.

This advisory team is too tied to the banking industry and there is no voice for the consumer and the tax payers who are footing the bill for their very existence and are now paying for their bonuses as well. It's time for some fresh ideas.”
