Chris Collins: 'People Now Don't Die From Prostate Cancer, Breast Cancer'

Chris Collins: 'People Now Don't Die From Prostate Cancer, Breast Cancer'

Commented Jul 3, 2012 at 18:23:23 in Politics

“I know Chris Collins, he is very wealthy. So in his world people have the best medical care money can buy. They go to the doctor often, they get detected early and they pay for the best care, the most advanced treatment at the best facilities. I am sure they don't die. But Chris Collins doesn't live in the real world. In the real world people die from cancer every day. He should know, he lives just outside of Buffalo where one of the best cancer treatment hospitals in the world is located, Roswell Park. Vote Kathy Hochul.”

“Cancer doesn't really care how much money you have. You may live a little longer and be able to try a few different treatments if you have the money - but sometimes the cancer wins anyway.”

The Queen Bee's Deadliest Weapon: Gossip

Commented Apr 4, 2013 at 13:28:45 in Women

“Read the results of focus groups conducted by political pollsters Celinda Lake and Kelly Ann Conway and their blog "Name It Change It". They found, in political campaigns, when a woman was attacked in a sexist way that she dramatically benefited by publically pointing out the sexist attack - pushing back and the turning the conversation back to the issue. Even those who had not heard the initial attack responded positively, and she gained supporters who had previously supported the opponent who it whatever form lodged the attack. The lesson is, that if you find out you are being gossiped about you have to push back - directly - immediately and strongly. Call it out. Sweeping it under the rug only helps confirm the untrue premise the gossip is based upon.”

“The problem is, unlike a political campaign, there isn't always a platform on which to push back or a person at which to point. Even if one knew the person who was spreading the rumors, there isn't much proof other than hearsay. With a political campaign, there's usually a reporter, camera, recorder or something there to document the attack, whether it was done in private or on a public stage.”

“I think it's clear that the only way to stop the excesses of power by large corporations is exposure of their methods and outcry by citizens. I hope that the countless stories of courage by individuals are shared and celebrated as wins for all Americans.”

“Carville has been drinking too much of his wife's Kool-Aid. The public option is alive and well and will be a part of the bill the President Obama will sign in October”

David Paterson, The Accidental Governor?

Commented Aug 28, 2009 at 14:09:41 in New York

“You know, I might agree with you on some of your points (not the Gillibrand appointment) but maybe some of the others. But my real question is - is anyone convinced that he really WANTS to be Governor? I'm have to say I'm not. I know that with the will he could do some amazing things with the Democratic majority in both houses. But I just don't see it. He's down to the wire here to show us that he has the drive...”

“I agree, Obama is about the same as paterson, I lived in Albany for 18 years up until 2000 and there was always gridlock, back room wrangling and old school locked out politics, blacks and whites would do well to listen to and read Alton Maddox's articles, blacks are being marrooned in Ny no matter who the Govenernor is. City schools run by the state and and out of touch mayor in Bloomburgh. And it does boil down to skin color ultimatley, as much as i loved Cumo, nothing ever got done, budgets were always late, and social workes like me never got state raises, thank God the Saint Anne's adminsitrators always found a way to give us a small raise. FREE Alton Maddox bkack folks in NY, do that and you will free yourself, I bet Wetchsler (sp) can practice law in NY again by now, or get a nomination the the Supreme court!!”
