The DOJ has over 110,000 employees; those who are to testify about the events of 2001 are unlikely to be Obama appointees. And while the President is nominally in charge of the entire executive branch, he does not have dictatorial powers; his actions have to follow existing law.

Bottom line, using this story as an excuse to cynically snark and snipe at the President is not only intellectually dishonest, it's also incredibly stupid. But as you deserve the benefit of the doubt, I will assume you are just dishonest.”

“But there is another test, that of public policy. In order to enforce a contract, you must take it to the law. In most jurisdictions, the law sets out what it will and will not enforce, and doesn't enforce anything just because its in an actual contract. Most jurisdictions would find it against public policy to enforce a contract provision that would force you to shock somebody if you didn't want to, whatever contract you signed.

For example, in Ontario, Canada, every lease contains a no pet clause. But it has been public policy for decades in Ontario that such clauses are unenforceable, but severable (which means that the entire contract doesn't fall, just that clause). Still the landlords include them in the lease, and still the tenants sign them, and then go ahead and have pets anyways. Maybe the landlords hope one day public policy will be reversed, and then they can enforce all those no pets clauses at their leisure, who knows?

There are many, many twists and turns in contract law, don't ever let anybody tell you you are bound to their contract until you check it out independent of their advice.”

I am a Obama supporter and I don't agree with his views on religion and government .I don't think religions should be tax exempt for one and I certainly believe in separation of church and state as written in our constitution ! I also disagree with Obama's vote on FISA which I hope he changes ! I still wouldn't vote for a Republican who would rather spend trillions of our dollars on a war for oil ,condones torture, spying on US citizens and tax the poor and middle class while they give tax breaks for the very rich !
